So here is a project that you might find interesting:

Its a fast-paced card-game (not one of those collectible ones, but just a regular tabletop card game) of medieval swordfighting. All the moves used in the game are actually based on real medieval combat-systems and the moves and the counter-moves actually work together pretty much as they would if you had two guys going at each other with real swords...

I like the look of this, though would indiegogo get as much coverage as kickstarter?

I'm not personally associated with the project in any way. Well, except that I pretty much know everyone in the project group. In any case I can't really say how it is. Seems to be working pretty well so far, although more pledges are still needed :)

Here is a promotional video explaining how the game works. From 4:10 onwards is the really cool stuff where they show examples of play with the cards first and then how the moves just used in card game would look in real world with real swords:

Audatia project is on its last fundraising week and we've gathered enough so that the game and at least all the followinf expansions will be printed:

- Lady fighter (one more character to augment the three earlier options)
- Armour (now you can fight with armour!)

Two more goals remain:

- If we get just a couple of hundred more Lichtenauer system expansion for the dominant german longsword style will be added
- If we get above 60 000 then we can add SPEARS and AXES
