View Full Version : Interesting pictures to come out of Gamesday 2013

For those that haven't trawled through the various Games Day threads, I found these nice little pictures buried somewhere in the digital mounds of images:
Made me go "Oooh!" out loud when I saw it...

Now, I have no idea what this is, so I'm not getting my hopes up, or starting some wild speculation. I just think it's cool to see a little bit of dungeon crawling hidden away at Games Day. :)

It was just a personal project from Tammy (I've forgotten her surname, sorry) from the graphic design team. Basically, it's her idea of what something like Advanced Heroquest would be like if they released it today - plastic components and the like. You can see it's made from movement trays and bits from other scenery sets - mostly doors and walls from the Garden of Morr.

I really like that style of painting, though. Gorgeous.

Thanks for the info Andrew!
I did recognise familiar bits and pieces. It's just nice to know at least some people at GWHQ sometimes get "tunnel on the brain"....

I agree, the painting is beautiful. I love the somewhat Blanchesque vibe, but clearly with her own "voice".

Certainly offers up a few ideas for doors in WHQst - I had never considered the Warhammer Scenery range until now. Well, okay - I have the Screaming Bell Arches (Skaven dungeon) - some Orc decoration accessories and Ogre ones too... but Empire door frame - completely skipped my mind!

I do like the idea of using the movement trays, gives it the 3d look whilst still staying fairly thin.

Really cool looking project :)

I've been looking at those pics some more, matching them with my (meagre) knowledge of the GW fantasy terrain line, but I can't seem to find a match.
Does anyone know where precisely those doors came from?

I believe they might be from the Garden of Morr (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440008a&prodId=prod1290008a) and Fortified Manor (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440008a&prodId=prod1095517) sets.

I might have to get those. The prices are actually starting to seem reasonable.
