Hi All,

I am looking to build some alternative gyrocopters. Now before I leap into scratch buildling I thought about using some biplane models. What scale do you think would be appropriate? I was looking at 1/48.

Yes, 1/48 is ~25-28mm scale.

Yeah, I was thinking of something like that launched from the dwarven version of a doomdiver catapult. Going to have to dig around though, not many model shops left around the Midlands.

Really? I always imagined the UK having a hobby shop between every house. :p

I don't think that's a coincidence, to be honest.

Hi Yabba!
Actually just today i ordered a couple of these: http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/shop/ral-partha-fantasy-c-37/fantasy-armies-c-37_39/dwarves-c-37_39_46/02040-dwarf-ornithopter-p-1819.html

They're a bit on the small side, but since i'm not crazy about the new gyrocopter, and the previous model still lays unassembled in one of my drawer (I can't seem to get it together!) this is a small nice model, easy to build and I like its structure that reminds me more of a biplane than an helicopter.

Thanks for all the ideas. Might have to have a cup of tea on this one!

Maybe this (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?383552-D%B3-Darnoks-Deamonic-Dungeon-Revisited&p=7090460&viewfull=1#post7090460) will help? The base model is in 1/72, I think 1/48 would turn out to be just too big.
