I spend a good deal amount of time playing, researching fluff, painting, converting and reading to. Scince I play warhammer once a week and paint my models and remove paint and makeing army lists and convertions almost Dailey.

if being on here counts, then about 80% of my free time, if not, then about 5%

I voted in the 10-25 category. The reason being... I am currently working on fixing up the yard of my house. If it wasn't summer then it would be higher yet. I am also not running league at my local store right now... and that ate up a good 5-8 hours a week...

i voted 10-25, as i am in year 10 and we have the delights of coursework for nearly all of our subjects. Plus, my friends parents seem to force him to go out every weekend.

It's pretty much my main hobby, I play video games, read books (usually ones published by Black Library) go to the pub etc, but a vast majority of my time is devoted to "The Games Workshop Hobby".

Does thinking dirty thoughts about Nurglings count? I'd like to know before I vote.

I don't spend much of my spare time as I could on it. Perhaps 10 hrs in a week at most. The rest of the time is doing everything else I can.

Doesn't mean I don't like it. It's heaps of fun, but for some reason the games I play are always quick :(

But when the Eldar, Dark Angel and possibly even Ork codices come out, hehehe, I'm gonna have a blast!

10-25% for me because, i dont always have that much of time on my hands, but every now and then on the weekends i'll get with some buddies and play some. and when we play fantasy and 40k we play for a good while.

I voted for 75-100%. Most of my time is spend on painting miniatures.

Got an army to finish.

A broken leg has had me off work and so spending more time with the hobby- mainly on here. But otherwise just time musing over it during the week, and then thinking about it at weekends. Do enjoy reading about it at anytime though

Random internet surfing cannot count in a poll like this. You just happen to be logged into Warseer, you could just as easily be looking at pr0n, or deformed babies or any other classy internet page. I mean, the web is vast, man - Warseer is but a tiny speck of a star on the great night sky of the Intarweb.

I vote for about 10%, I guess. That varies. These past 6 months, it's been close to nil.

Wouldn't this be best posted in the painting and terrain forum?

My advice is to use a hot glue gun to make it all into a debris-like mess.

why would i need to take it there if i was just answered here. anyways yea i am a total warhammer looser. i think all my free time is warhammer now.

For me the question would be more like, "How much of the time you spend on Warhammer stuff would be free time?"

It's not so much a hobby as a way of life!

I have a lot of free time, but I tend to fill it with self-imposed study and other things. I don't have any friends who play, and I don't like playing strangers at a gaming store.

I hardly spend any money on GW products anymore, since they have become to expensive for the enjoyment I personally get out of them. I will sit and paint for maybe 15 mins at a time, but due to a neck and back injury, I can't do it for any longer than that.

I like to read about Warhammer/40K on the net and in White Dwarf (although not so much the latter recently), and spend a lot of time on Warseer because I like the majority of the posters and find it an agreeable environment to discuss things in, for the most part.

Slight flaw in the poll there, it should have been:

76-100%
51-75%
26-50%
11-25%
0-10%

Otherwise where do you vote if you spend exactly 10%, 25%, 50%, etc? ;)

Anyway, I think about 30% for me.

Yarick Zan

well i know atleast every monday night im going to play warhammer. considering thats when my particular group gets together at our local shop. basicly since i only started playing 2 mondays ago (including the one we just had) ive been playing all sorts of people i dont know. but all in all they are a good group.

0-10% as i'm addicted to too many other things at the moment; WoW, Uni, WoW, real life, WoW, programming morally questionable code, WoW and perhaps eating or was that WoW as well. It would have been around 20-30% a few years back as GW and Portent introduced me to the concept of online communities and have since then have branched out (perhaps too far) but still remembering every now and then to check up on where i've laid my roots.

Currently ALOT, cause I am painting a new army. But that's still far less than 25% of my free time.

21-06-2006, 11:21
If Warseer counts, then most of my free time. Like 70%. Without Warseer, I'd say about half that.

If I were voting I'd say 0-10%, but that would increase over the summer, in between film making, Guild Wars and dragging myself out of the house every now and again... :p

Edzard

10-25%

Movies/books and some games take up loads of my free time, also I kinda don't really like painting for too long on a single day (you will never see me paint an entire squad in a day)

Sanjuro
21-06-2006, 12:20
why would i need to take it there

Because you are much more likely to get several good answers over there.

I meant that you should do it as a favour to yourself.

I wasn't being snarky.

I voted 25-50%, but being summer its probably around 10% but in the dark evenings of the winter I get loads done. Probably not the best idea making an army for heat 1 of the uk gt over the summer :p

I'd like to put about 1/2 of my free time into 40k, expecially with Medeus V coming up, but stupid real life keeps getting in the way. Split between girlfriend, family, and exercise I seem to only get in about 1/10, so about 4 hours a week. Oh how I yern for the fat lazy days of my youth. So much painting time wasted watching batman and playing legos. Darn you childhood me!!

I spend a little time every day working on some aspect of the game. My schedule is incredibly busy, and unfortunately gameplay must come last, but the beauty of this game is its depth -- there's the fluff, the hobby aspect, and the strategy/tactical side. Definitely my favourite game at the moment, and I didn't think ANYTHING would replace my beloved PS2 rpgs!!!

Anyway, I think about 30% for me.

I know, but I don't think people know EXACTLY how much time they spend on warhammer...

PS: being on warseer is partially being busy with warhammer... because you're probably doing other stuff as well... but everyone has to decide how much % it is for him/herself

I picked 25-50% because I game 2 nights a week, read a large amount of Black Library, convert and or paint alittle every day, and I like to kill time making lists(even ones I know I'll never use).

My friends and I will also spend hours talking about fluff and play style. Warhammer and 40k are my only real hobbies(motorcycles are a way of life so don't count)

too much probably.

Thats what happens when the girlfriend is away in germany for a year though i guess :(

at the momoent, not a lot really, 10-25% at maximum.

in the past I have had periods of much higher hobbying levels.

In the two weeks i spent making the first phase of the Venice city fight board, I was spending 100% of my free time on it. the only things I did for those weeks were sleep eat and make cityfight terrain.

Technically all my spare time is spent on 40k. This is because I don't really count my band or or other social activities as "spare time". If I'm not doing anything then it's 40k. If you took into account my band and other social stuff, it'd prob. be more like 20%.

Lately I have hardly done much except assemble some DE every now and then. Although I am planning on developing an army and board to use soon.
