So have Chaos Dwarves had any mention yet in AoS? Do they still exist somewhere, are they gone, or is it 'yet to be revealed', or simply hinted at?

Initially it was hinted that they survived. I posted something from the White Dwarf way back. If i recall something about mercenary dwarfs making armour for Chaos in AOS (just like 8th lol). Regardless of the official GW line my Chaos Dwarfs are still alive ;)

The 9 realms are big enough for them

The Fyreslayers have been noted as working for Chaos if payed in enough Ur-Gold.

The good old Chaos dwarfs were noted as being murderified by Grimgor during the End Times, so technically there shouldn't be any of them. But there is room for dwarfs to have fallen to chaos later.

I'm pretty sure ALL the Dwarfs of the Warhammer world were killed in the End Times, and that hasn't stopped GW from introducing the (IP Unique) Dwarfs into their new game line.

IIRC, he destroyed Zharr Naggrund, which certainly killed loads of chaos dwarfs, but certainly not them all, just like destroying Altdorf wouldn't kill all humans.

But destroying the world WOULD destroy all of the humans and all of the dwarfs and all of the orcs. Everyone (non-Chaos aligned) except Sigmar and, for some reason, the non-magically empowered beings who were the previous Incarnates.

Well, the Zharrgrim priests of the Fyreslayers are strongly hinted to be the successors of many Chaos Dwarf traditions (aka big hats and no mustaches).

Um... since when have no mustaches been a Chaos Dwarf tradition?

They love their bighats AND mustaches.

What Chaos Dwarf miniature was ever released with the insult of no mustache? Infernal guard have masks and burnt faces so don't count. I'm talking exposed faces. The infernal guard would all kill to have their mustaches back anyway.

Most of the new chaos dwarfs from forge world have beards and no mustaches. Go look at them.

Man i have looked at them like 100 times since they first came out and it never registered with me. You are 100% correct and I am a complete tripper. I guess i just visualised mustaches or focused on the beard.

It must be the orange hair on this new dwarf which makes it so jarring. I can't hold his lack of mo against him anymore.

I think that's more of a conceptual/spiritual succession than a concrete ingame link, there is nothing we've seen to suggest the Zharrgrim priests are secret chaos worshippers and their warscroll still has the order keyword.

Actually, apparently they do link them to the chaos dwarfs in some way in the latest WD.

Cool, does anyone have something more solid they can add to that?
