I want to get a Ork army but I refuse to buy the rubbish GW vehicles, anyone know what scale vehicles I should buy. I read somewhere that 1/48 scale was the right size but I don't really trust the source, any help would be really appreciated.

Well 1/48 is the closest model scale to GW stuff.

Considering that majority of Ork vechs are always in different shapes and sizes from the fluff, it should be fine.

The best thing to do is try and find some vechs that look the right size, and then converting them to add a few grots and orks around it

Anybody got any idea of how to solve it?

I tried to make an account up but that didnt work, Thats the only thing the website comes up with.

I cant figure out what to do. I think its my computer settings but ! dont know what.

That is quite odd... Are you sure you are going to http://www.the-waaagh.com/

if so, Keep trying, and click the "Contact the forums administrator" link to let them know what's going on.

Yep, Thats the website.

I can click on anything else on the website and look through it.

I just cant get onto the forums It Comes up with the board message everytime. No matter what other links I use. Or anything else I try.

I contact the forum admin people but they wern't much help at all. I've had no luck whatso ever with getting onto the website.

And seeing as at the moment Im collecting an ork army that website seems like it has a wealth of information and inspiration.

If anyones got any idea at all why I cant get onto it, It would be most appreciated.

Also have a look at the Forge World Ork vehicles (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_ORKS_21.html), some VOID Junkers Dune buggies (discontinued, http://www.artgamer.com/void_junkers.html), Robogear models (http://www.imex-model.com/games1.htm) or even a Fenryll Ork jetbike (http://www.artgamer.com/ficheproduit.php?codearticle=FESFVPA08&univ=FE&coderayon=FESF).

i really hate to say it but its just too hard to really know. i have had some luck with 1/48th scale but other models of the same size have not worked at all. what i do is just brouse the model section of a store and open boxes when i shouldnt. and even then its really hard to tell what size the thing will be because its not put together.

but on a positive note buying model vehicles is definately the way to go. it costs less and will look a lot better. Here is a warbuggy i made recently made from a model airplane (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=787585&postcount=1563).

I have used 1/48 quite sucessfully.

The thing you have to watch out for is the details, GW tends to grossly oversize the details in comparison to things like WW2 models at a 1/48 scale. So as a base for a Battlewagon a 1/48 scale will probably be fine if you include enough gubbinz and armor plates. But if you get something smaller like a half-track you might find it to be too small/thin and flimsy looking for Orks
