View Full Version : Epic Imperial Knight models

15-07-2006, 03:49
I've been searching the net and my WD collection for pictures of the old Imperial Knights from the last Epic range prior to Epic 40 000 - The ones that were three-part metal figures, a body and two arms on the 40k slottabase. SoL only has the older one-piece models. Any pictures, especially bare-metal ones, would be greatly appreciated, as would links to anywhere that might have them.

are you sure they were metal? the only 3-part ones that i can think of were the plastics ones from Titan Legions

I definitely remember seeing them in the section they used to have at the back of WD showing the components of newly released/featured models - I just don't have any of those WDs. They looked like they were part of the same family as the plastics from Titan Legions, as opposed to the odder poses of the older ones.

There are metal versions of the Titan Legions plastics with different arms. As far as I can see they're not on SoL or epiccollector, though.

I have them all in a citadel journal somewhere (with the epic40k adeptus mechanicus army list). I'll have a looksee.

The plastic ones in TL where Knights Paladin, there where also metal versions.

The metal onlys included Lancers, Crusaders, Castellans, etc. Plus a "Baron" for each type.

Cool models.

The TL era knights unfortunately aren't shown on either SoL or EpiCollector. I have an old catalogue from TL era kicking around. I'll see if I can find it and scan it. If I can't, try asking on EpiComms (now called Tactical Wargames). I can almost gaurantee someone there already has it stored electronically.

The metal TL knights are Lancers, Errants, Castellans and Crusaders. There are leaders for the Paladins and Lancers which are merely a regular knight of that type with a banner pole attached. There is also the Braon, which is a supreme leader. Typically, you would only have one Baron per knight army.

I prefer the AT era knights, but the TL era knights are cool, too.

I happen to own a pair of Paladins from that range. (They came three to a blister, but I used the third one for a bionic leg)

Rather nice figs, too.

The AT knights looked too 80s for my liking, and a bit too much like men in suits. The TL ones looked more mechanical. Wonderdog, Dwarf Supreme, I'd really appreciate it if you guys could have a look, though Wonderdog I think you must be getting sick of scanning by now.

Lancers, Errants, Castellans, Crusaders & Braon.

Surprised there aren't any photos of these floating around. I have all of these in my Titan legion army and they aren't painted yet. Unfortunately I don't have a decent photo setup at the moment but these should give anyone an idea.

Fantastic, I knew someone had to have bought them :P

For Crusader and Errant, there are pics of the components in WD180 - but unfortunately I do not have a scanner around.

If you want some clearer shots PM me and I will get round to it eventually (almost got my computer setup properly again).

Epicollector's site has some pics of the first, SM-era knights. They're in the IG section.

Why am I afraid it will get used for a bionic leg?
