Classics have been up there for a while, but honestly I don't know how long. I came across them maybe 4 months ago, and they weren't being advertised as new links or anything.

on the topic of classic models, does anyone else like the dragonmaster dragon from the mercenaries and monseters guide?

Yes, very much. Though I'm not entirely sure it's suited to having a rider...
And even then, which model?

It is. It was sold with a rider. Question is if any newer models fit on it.

Yep, I certainly do.

Only changes I've had to make are a unit of dwarves with spears now count as having hand weapons (yes GW, big hammers and axes are very useful things for a pragmatic race like dwarves, what with their natural fighting terrain being narrow tunnels and similar areas, and not having any cavalry  ), and a couple of old fire throwers that are mothballed (although I might have a look at the bugman's rules if I ever expand the army again - but it's already at 5,000 points :D ).

I've even got an old, 3rd edition WFB era, flame cannon. ;)

Basically, if you can reasonably say something counts as something in the army list, then, IMO at least, there's no real problem.

Thanks for that link! Those classic armoured skeletons are just what I needed for my new rigment of Grave Guard with halberds.

Ooh, I want one of those Carrion riders. They're so cute! :D The classic Lord of Change is really neat too. The components list does confuse me a little, though. There's only enough for one body, one tail and one head, right? Because if all the components listed are included in the boxed set, well... That's one great deal, in that case. But I doubt it's like that. I am correct that the parts you get are randomized, am I not?

I noticed that the only of the classic Greater Daemons that says "random" is the Great Unclean One. It's kind of odd, since the Bloodthirster and the Lord of Change have far more different components. There's only one style of Keeper of Secrets and Great Unclean One, yet the two others aren't marked "random". Only one is... What gives?

Anyhow, I have to check up on my financial status. If it's good enough, I might be ordering me some old stuff. ;) I could always use the bits for a conversion, if nothing else.

EDIT: The Chaos warrior with the jezzail and Shrieve the Inquisitor are also way sweet. Some of these guys would fit great in a LatD/Traitor Guard army.

I like the old Grave Guard with halberds better myself, but taste differ.

ok just had a quick brows thru those classic lists funnily to me they all still seem quite new, i can remember when they were released and it doenst seem long enough ago to turn them into classics....must be geting old

anyway in the empire list i spotted the clasic regiments, a few years ago for 16 quid you could get 16 empire soldiers in metal and plastic that could be built as crossbows, handgunners, spearmen or swordsmen including command. now its 40 quid for the same box! what the hells going on with that? cant see any reason at all for the price to more than double!

I like them a lot. :)

Where did you find those?
They're not in the online store or the classics section.

Those old-school greater daemons are awesome. They've got the original bloodthirster that the hero-quest gargoyle was modelled of.
I never realized that they used to sell a whole range of parts for those figures. Guess they were before me...
