1:48th is 28mm. It means that 48 of them put on top of each other will be the same height as a real man/horse/tank/dragon/whatever

only if they are very short, 28mmx48 = 4'4"

28mm is about 1:60th scale

1:48th scale is nearer 34-36mm tall

many people however prefer to use 48th scale vehicles and equipment with 28mm men tho as most 28mm miniatures have incredibly oversized hands and heads making which makes 60th scale stuff look wrong

Sorry to say, but it looks to me as if this is going to be a miniatures range only. No word about an upcoming game was to be found on the website. Looks like they are producing these minis for collection purposes only.

Andy Chambers and his Red Star Games are apparently working on a miniature war game: http://www.redstargames.net/projektc.html

Not sure if this project has been cancelled or if these Thunderbolt minis are somehow part of the same project.

The thunderbolt minis seem to have a different size than those from redstargames. I don't think there is a connection between the two. Maybe one could use the thunderbolt minis with the Red Star rules as the miniatures should be cheaper due to their smaller size.

Last I heard the miniature rules were for 28mm minis. Testors has also been selling collector's figures that are, IIRC, made by Tom Meier and those are the figs on his site.

I keep visiting Andy Chamber's site to get info on this game, since I'm a huge fan GRRM's books ... but less so of a mini wargame based on it. I'm mostly dubious because I can't imagine how the game could be any more fun or different than the other offerings out there already. Considering that GRRM's world is largely low-magic, I don't see why battles can't be played out pretty easily using something like DBA/DBM or Warhammer Ancients. Even stuff like the Others could be handled pretty easily, I think. Dragons would just be a "win button." ;)

Anyone have any info on this "Projekt" that's not on AC's site?
