The Scottish Conflict was great man. Tho on the 2nd round, a new player never did his army list... so he spent half of the game making one.

Apart from that it was great & there was many new Termies being sold.

I was up for top 5 best painted armies.

Wiat Richard you go to GW Glasgow??? just the gaming room one in Union Street I am there a lot.. so I might of seen you there????

But Scottish Conflict this year had more turn out then ever before, great laugh as well.

Lord Setra
30-06-2005, 20:44
Yarg I wish I had gone this year.

I went two years ago and came second, (WOO!) that year Conflict was getting pretty busy.

I couldnt go this year for two reasons:

1.I can say that I have been to a GW competiton and have been unbeaten.

2. I was learining to fly with the air cadets at Cranwell, so I was quite far away:p

Probably the best place to put this as it is aimed at scottish players. I am intending (hopefully) to attend the Carnage Tourney in August and i am looking for any other scots players who are up for the the trip to Nottingham, some in particular would make the trip...interesting.

I still cant believe you came in second you gypsy.

Any way if it was 40k I would of happly jump that the change. I think it to do with that lizeman campinge thing... tho there is a LotR big battle.

As for the all gaming... there ton of kid with the summer... so many cocky kids there  just me & some of there other vet where saying about rule/sorting them out due to some of the cock noob cheating.

Any way... so back to the Scottish opponet finder.

Lord Setra

No... well undercoat would be better than bare plastic. But just say to the manger that you just got them & want to usse them or you ran out of spry & going to buy some later on.

Same with eating in the gaming room no mess or everone get banned from eating... tho best to ask before hand as there days where staff say no.

But don't worry man just say you want to test them or that you ran out of spary. If it the manger who tell you anything, just say about his White Scar & there Mold lines & just say your taking your time clean them & all. If I am there I'll jump in & just take the p*** out off him.

Lord Setra
06-07-2005, 15:36
Lol cheers for that.

Dont worry bout the mold lines etc, they will all be cleaned off and the models hould be based and undecoated.

Im not a fan of bare models.

06-07-2005, 15:53

06-07-2005, 16:57
It pretty cool in Glasgow one where allowed to eat... but the Newer player keep messing up during there Sat & Sun. I think eating back on after 2 months but... it best to ask staff.

Just time & time again & all those cock kid who come in don't help.

It just it suck for the rest of us when there, KfC, Subway, McD, Burger King, Gregges all next to GW or that least a few second of walking.

But gaming wise, game any time & vet night are:
Mon: 6-10pm (when age under 16 must go)
Thur: 6-9pm (Those under 16 must get staffer permission)
Sat: I don't go since it full of kids

You allowed to buy stuff until 6pm

Also I'm sorry to hear about what happen in London, just in GW Glasgow staff advice any of us lot going home by transport to go as soon as possible due to what happen in London. Just there threat of Glasgow & Edinbrugh been targeted (sp) in Sky news.

But again London memeber sorry to hear of this terrible act.

I will be, but given the way work is atm.. gah, I finish on the 12th of august, so that will give me like 2 weeks to paint 1.5k worth of eldar..

I was in dundee station today and got stopped and my case searched... I was like "if it was a bomb.. is it really a good idea to open it?"

Insane Psychopath
07-07-2005, 19:13
I just got a lot of looks. But some of them that work there know me (tho I don't talk to them or anything). It just I get the train in ever Mon & Thur & then when I go back to college Mon,Tue , Wed & Thur. It just I thought they would of stop me ever time I walk past them.

Train from Stirling where late due to those people from yesterday destroying everthing.

But again to London memeber sorry to hear of this sad news.

As for the Vet trip it 1500pts 2 game of that then 750 I think, don't know if it the same as last year. Also free food.

I'll be going if I can get the time. Also I'll of just been back from the GT heat 1 (40k)

Xavier
07-07-2005, 20:31

Hey, whats the cost lineup on the August Vets trip? I'd fancy taking a trip to that(as I need to stock up on Bugman's Tankards and such for my flat for next year)

I was quite pleased last year to get an over the shoulder of Graham McNeil look at the pre-publish Codex Space Marines. And it was good fun.

Xisor

Insane Psychopath
07-07-2005, 22:10
I have not been told the cost as of yet. Only thing is to ask that your local GW.

Saying that we might get to see Black Templar & if so screw the 3rd game, I'm take photo of all the pagies while Greame bussy talking to people.

Any way it on the 24th. Just we leave that Tue 12am, back Wed 12am. It was a good trip last year but so long a bus trip. Just wonder what staffer going to look after us.

Xisor
07-07-2005, 23:01

A week before I start my model making coure that college.

If I am there. Let just say if Codex Black Templar is being show there.... well you can find me with it, take photo of all the pagies, but I'll make sure to take them when no one looking.

It just Black Templar are my 2nd favrot army in 40k & staffer are letting me be the first coustomer to see it in my local GW.

But you can count me in... tho I will be suffering from the hang over of the GT :o

Also this time I'll make sure to ask Greame if I can keep the test spure lol.

Xisor
09-07-2005, 13:45
Well, I doubt we'll be getting the bus down with all the Londoners :p

I think there'd be enough though(at HQ) for a bus from Scotland and a bus from elsewhere to go 'head to head' and things still to be 'comfortable'. IIRC it would be all of Scotland again, speaking to staff members last year in Edinburgh they seemed to enjoy it and view it as quite a success.

Xisor

Lord Setra
09-07-2005, 13:48
Hmm would it be a bus for every one from Scotland or many seperate buses with every one meeting up down at HQ.

Insane Psychopath
09-07-2005, 13:59
It you go to your local GW & get the bus from there.

People who live in Ayr are you lot getting your own bus. Nothing persnoly (sp) but it took a extra 2 hour out of the Glasgow way to get to Warhammer World. You lot where funny one the bus trip I got to say lol.. but still.

It usely take 7 hour to get there even with stops & all but took 9 when we pick you lot up. It Glasgow had to pick people up from Ayr that add a extra 2 hours, they where the last to be pick up, yet first to be drop off. So I have ask the manger in my GW if it cool if they get there own bus or they come to Glasgow GW.

Just it was a good day down there, just not a fun bus trip.

This is nothing peronal just that extra 2 hour made the bus trip worst & frustrating (sp)

Any way I'll be there with my Iron Warriors since they'll just had there GT down there.

edit++++

What armies are you lot taken?????

It was very good last year I got to say, had some great games. I would of like it if the trip was before the UK GT heat 1 (40k) so I could of done some recon.

But it will be good & as long as my Iron Warrior get to spill thy enemy blood I'll be happy.

Dose any one know what kind of fight it would be. Just last year it was a City Fight tree campinge. If it the same then Chaos Gods be prise.

Lord Setra
09-07-2005, 19:46
Indeed.

When we went down to Games day we had to get the East Kilbride lot added an hour and a half to journey and they always got home first, so I understand your frustration at picking us up.

Unfortunatley I could not tell you if we are getting a bus to our selfs.

On the army front I will be taking my Dark eldar down to capture me some slaves:p

Xavier
09-07-2005, 19:51

Lord Setra

I couldnt go, was on holiday:(

Insane Psychopath
09-07-2005, 19:58
I was told 6 people. Werid thing is last year it was anyone who could come as well?????

I'll ask around on Mon what the deal is???? Only thing is to try stop the Sat kids. We get a few who are allowed in on Thur Vet night. When they hear me & other talking about the GT, the Sat kids all going "ohh I am going" & so forth. Until we told them the age limit (sp).

Just it hard to say... but easy way is there a pain in the @$$

Any way cool Lord Setra it been so long since I seen a DE army use.... in fact 9 year I've been into this hobby & I've only fought them once in 40k in 40min to teach a newer player who to play it. Other wise it is one army I would really like to fight against my Iron Warriors.

Good thing is the Sat kid will not be going on the Vet trip as they are back that school. It just we do try help them, but they never listen, we tell them what we think best for there army only to be ignore & for the Sat kid keep asking use after we told them. Also they changer there army ever week to a newer one <_<

Sorry for the rant but I am just happy that there not coming along, mean I get a break from them.

Any way look forward to seeing people down there if I am going.

Lord Setra
09-07-2005, 21:12
Well you might get a game against them before we go down to the Vets trip because they are getting closer and closer to being finished.

On the school front, ahhhh.

Was the trip the same time as last year because if that was the case then I could have went.

Sly GW staff.

But it was good, me & the IW player had my Chplain vs his Lt. Just I wipe out his squad that where with the LT. I promise him that I'll leave the Lt & let him & my Chaplain finish it off. We kill each other atfter 1 round.

@Riddy its 1500pt of 40k. Not very man y models when you consider the points cost of your army.

Here I come with some news.....

The Vet trip. It suppose to be 40k, Lotr, WFB. Just like last year apart from English are gonig to join in the fun... but due to recent event thing for them are not 100%.

But it is a trip to Warhammer World, all games core 40k, WFB, LotR will be played. Kind of GT tournament style apart from in one day & 3 games.

So same as last year trip... also there is word that we will get to see Codex Black Templars & the new spure. It not 100% as of yet.. well find out. But if it is... I just want to say I tax seeing the codex & spure first lol. It all mine

Come one BT are my 2nd fav army. I just got my Emperor Champion (25th one) from ebay today. Also it'll be my 4th BT army. Also I'll be taken photos with my Digi camera :chrome:

Xavier

Yet more news, the vet trip is off till after gamesday, seems people can afford to go to gd and the vet trip and so were choosing gd over a trip to warhammer world.

Insane Psychopath
13-07-2005, 07:03
Fist off all.... heh????? Why it put of & I will double check this.

Second (about Games Day & Vet trip): if you ask me I think the Vet trip better as the Vet trip is around 20-30 (includ bus), you get 3 games & free food also preview of new codex/army book & new spure. Games Day you pay 50 (bus down there + ticket) sure there might be able to get some of the BT stuff... but I got friend that can pick it up for me.

I rather go to Vet trip. Also to as in GT, you get 6 games & three meals for free (hotels & bus all paid since GT heat 1 near my bday)

Any way so what the date change to???? as I've got college & might not be able to go. But I will check tomorrow.

Riddy
13-07-2005, 09:16
Ok, if the vets trip is all 3 core games how many points of Fantasy will it be, 1500, 2000?

Insane Psychopath
13-07-2005, 16:08
I say if 40k going be 1500, WFB should be 2000 like last year. But you might need to make a 2nd list.

Last year 40k side we needed a 750pts army list as well due to the last game was a big game with 3 teams, winners, drawers & lossers. It was great, fun & hard.... tho I have lernt my lesson... know that the SoB living saint can come back. Just I sent my Chaplain to save her only to get gunned down by Necrone... then she came back, turly a SoB lol

Any way 2000 for WFB it should be,l but better ask staff as my GW... well manger know very little.

Any way hope to see people there

I was just saying this is why GT are a lot better money wise that Games Day.

It aint that expensive you are looking at about 50 for it all so that aint that bad.

Only reason I am really going to GD is to try and see if I can see some of the new Eldar stuff and try and get some of the new WE that wont be out yet.

Xisor
14-07-2005, 11:45
If the Vets trip is set for after GD, then that may mean we get an even better 'sneak preview' when we're there. I mean there can't *really* be that much in the BT codex that'll be *that* exciting, or that won't have been reported in rumours elsewhere.

50, spending money when away=20-30 plus 50 for GD, plus extra minis i need=50 plus 150 for T in the Park ticket in January, plus GD spending money=60-70 leaving me with about 10 to last me a month....er....no i dont think so somehow.

You should maybe drop out, that what I did & now I've had a year & a half of art & desing in college passing it all. Soon in 4-5 week I'll be going Model making as why I have this model making job to train me.

For those who are intrested (sp) the manger of GW Glagow is changing (sp). I don't know the new manger name but I remember seen him around GW in the past. Any way the recent Manger is moving back to Dundee.

But the new mamnger is cool got to talk to him but he is going to be very tough with the model not being painted. So you must have then that least undercoated in order to game. Dose not bother me as I alway have a full painted army... well that until I have Black Templars. I know this may not seem big to you lot but the older manger use to be really cool with letting unpainted armies in but as long as they did get painted after a month.

Any way some news on that for you lot.

Correct

Andy Horsefall from Dundee is taking over gw glasgow as of tuesday past, while the ex mamager has left the company

Bazzy from Ayr is taking over Dundee

Some guy from Bath is taking over ayr

(Ill say again, The glasgow manager has left the company follow his 'head hunting' notice. The dundee manager took over glasgow and the ayr manager took over dundee. Ayr's new manager is from england, bath.)

Also, being from dundee, I will just laugh at this..

Xavier
28-07-2005, 20:38
Well.. he's arrogant, doesn't like the specialist games, still sore at keith robertson for passing him over for an eavy metal job, he thinks he knows every single rule to the smallest detail and trys to intimidate anyone he plays which hardly ever works, he refused/s to play anyone he thinks could beat him and almost always passes up challanges from vets and plays beginers to win, not in intro game mode.. gah..

In general most of the dundee vets and staff didn't and don't like him, as a result of him 3 of the key timers left.. etc

/rant

Thats a scaled down version.. but most of the other dundee regulars on here, like marv, will agree with what I just said, though probably not as openly as I do for fear of reprisal.

Any way for Glasgow lot:

As of September GW Glasgow in Union street (gaming room) gaming days are changing. It will be Veteran night have swap from Mon to Tues now, there no more Thur gaming nights, you now have to book a table during the day in order to player a game, all food & drink are banned.. yes even on Vets night (damn newer gamers it was all them). Finial a new rule all models must that least be undercoated in order to be use in the GW gaming room... so my Templars will have to wait a bit long until they get a game then <_<

@ Cullexus just ask Ed that GW as he usely run these things, but also if you come to Vet night there are a few gmaes going on as well.

To be honest it doesn't look very likely at the moment, I have no offical 40k army at the moment to speak of, since I refuse to use both my 13th co and Strike Forces now and Eldar wont be released in time. Not to mention university stuff taking priority over the hobby at the moment. I may however come through to watch or somthing, dunno.

So I thought I'd just enquire as to who of the scottish folk will be going to Games Day and if you'll be taking the coach down?

I'll be going down this year (hopefully enter a few golden deamons) and I'll be taking the coach down. I've got the tickets just awaiting the model....

My wife and i have our tickets for GD but not sure if we will get the coach yet, as we cant get coach tickets till the end of the month and there was only 25 seats left when i went in to get my GD tickets last week.

While GW Glasgow is closer to me; I do goto Braehead more due to having the car, so Braehead is just easier for me. Oh I got my tickets for the Glasgow Games day coach yesterday.
