Hey guys,

I'm building up a marine force and semi making an eldar force but that is on the back burner until the new codex. Anyway I'm not a very fast worker at all, throw in the fact that I'm not very good at painting and know nothing about modelling and I doubt that I'd finish these armies anytime soon, but that's where you guys come in!

Ok so for both forces I've got stuff built and very little fully painted. so eldar first:

sorry this ones out of focus but you can see the colour scheme I'm going for, sort of a winter camo pattern, my first (of many) vyper:

And the almost finished (one pilot and the underside to do!) Fire Prism:

So the rest of my eldar stuff - maybe ten or twelve jetbikes and 5 or 6 vypers is mostly assembled but I bought it from ebay so it's all painted in other peoples crap. The fact that I can't sort out bits ordering to get all the shuricancannons I need and the upcoming codex means I'm not really focussing on this at the moment. So my attentions have turned to the marine force I'm building. To be continued in next post...

Because I reached the image limit I saved this Farseer on jetbike pic:

this guy could maybe become an autarch after the new codex but I do like the warp spider one...

So some marine stuff.

This guy is part of my Terminator chaplains retinue and served as a bit of a test for the colour scheme:

Also here's the semi painted terminator captain:

Also a semi painted Techmarine, this guy's not in my armylist but I love the model:

For the next post I have saved my assualt squad I've been working on...

I've been messing around with posing of models, and even getting the hands dirty with a bit of the greenstuff for this next squad. This is my second HQ choice in the army (and second chaplain), with the assualt squad he'll be attached to. The chappy is just the bog standard jump back chappy, but I've done a bit of work on the squad, my greenstuff skills are still developing however!

so, heres the first guy:

http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1042/img2819md2.th.jpg (http://img228.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2819md2.jpg)

The squad takes shape with the next two done:

http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/3930/img2823cl4.th.jpg (http://img381.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2823cl4.jpg)

this picture is rubbish but I kind of like the stylised look!

http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/7442/img2822ep4.th.jpg (http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2822ep4.jpg)

And this is the squad fully constructed, I just need to greenstuff the chappy's base then they're ready for undercoating:
(apologies for the terrible picture!)

Ok so I need help, as you can see I've got very little even half done. I need a reason to paint, and so this is it. Any tips on painting skills and modelling skills will be greatly appreciated and any simple encouragement would be too!

dosent look like you need alot of help. maybe just some washes and hilights.
im not sure what you want to model but those guys look fine to me out of the box. i didnt see any molding lines and thats usually the biggest problem for people. i would say drill out your guns though, makes them look so much better.

They look pretty good but bigger pics would help to tell if you need help...otherwise:D

I will re-upload the pictures when I get chance at full resolution.

One of the things I need help with is the veteran seargent from the assualt squad, I want him to have a chaplain style helmet. Does anybody know any good threads on sculpting helmets or skulls that they can point me in the direction of?
