Ok, here's my first draft fleet for my Dark Eldar fleet:

Kabal of the Twisted Sister (I'm still in the WIP stage for the name :p)

Dread Archon Ilzharod the Decadent, +1 reroll, 125pts

Flagship: Miserati, Torture class, carrier bays, 250pts

Czernobog, Torture class w/ lance, 230pts

The Corrupted, 6 lance corsairs - 300pts

The Twisted, 6 torpedo corsairs - 300pts

The Defiled, 3 weapon battery corsairs - 150pts

The Fallen, 3 impaler corsairs - 150pts

Comes to just a shade over the limit of 1500pts. The models for the Czernobog and Miserati are already made, so only additions to, not replacing them. It's a all comers fleet, so should do ok against the fleets of nurgle, nids and tau :)

keep the name (i've got a decent sized kabal with the same name for 40k)
besides that, the list looks fairly solid

solid list, you rely on escorts like i do in my eldar fleet.

Though many say it's a slight waste not to go with the obviously strong choice of Launchbays on *every* cruiser, it leaves you in the 'fairly strong fleet. Overall rating: Extremely capable' category. Speaking mainly for myself, I don't relish the thought of opposing that sort of fleet (from a 'winning' PoV), but it *would* be good fun...

Whilst the models for the DE aren't too spiffy, and the variety is a *bit* poor(still you can engineer the fleet to do what you need, it is tailorable), the fleet itself is still an immense amount of fun to actually play with and against, from my experience.

I've used Dark edlar jetbikes for the cruisers, and converted eldar escorts for the corsairs.

I also didn't want to have cruisers which were exactly the same, I wanted variation and a cool looking fleet - hence the lance armed cruiser (escorts could easily do the job better ;)).

You guys don't think it's a little too cheesy? I'm considering toning it down a little and sticking a cruiser with torpedo bays in there - mainly because I have a blast making the cruisers :p

Heh, those ships look great AA, I've got a moderately sized DE fleet and no 2 of my ships look alike- so Im a fan of very individualistic looks (been chopping and glueing pieces of my fleet together from day 1). Thus I strongly encourage ya to make another cruiser in a similar style to the one you linked bud. If you're interested I can try taking pics of my DE fleet to show ya just how much I love to make these little hackjobs look different.

Hey, inspiration is 9/10ths plagaurism :) The carriers finished, you'll probably get to see my entire fleet in FIREBASE issue 2.

I'm not a huge fan of DE, 40K or otherwise (not enough variety in my opinion, and I'm not a huge fan of the fluff), but this looks like a capable enough list. I play Imperials, so I hate facing Eldar and Dark Eldar (bloody fields!), and intend to build Necrons just to counter you guys =P. But this looks fairly good. I'm interested to know: how are you going to use it? What are your plans for deployment, placement, groupings, squad proximity, etc.?

I don't really think about those things until I see the gameboard, in BFG, 40K whatever. I usually take what's cool then build a plan around them rather than the other way round.

Not giving too much away (my enemies may be reading :p) I'll probably pair the weapon battery escorts with the lance cruiser and have them roving one side, whilst keeping my carrier at a distance behind some cover (no minimum move, afaik, so it can hold station whilst pumping out ordnance markers). The torpedo escorts will either guide/break up the enemy fleet whilst my lances try and take the front (presuming they're imperial, who don't have weapon batteries at the front! 6+ armour does not scare lances).

Other than that, if it goes tits up, I'll wing it. :p

Something Im surprised that very few DE players in BFG use are the impaler modules. They're resilient against attacks and automatically crit almost any enemy on a 2+. Ever seen an Emperor class without any of its bays working? How about because of a 3 strong escort squadron? I've always been a fan of putting a squadron of 6 or so impaler escorts (or several smaller groups) in AAF into the enemy capital ship formation and just launching the impalers. (Usually I try to get beyond the ships so they can't return fire as easily) but sending an escort squadron in, critting the heck out of a ship or two then bracing any return fire can create all kinds of headaches. Another thing I like about the dark eldar is they have the most easily configured fleet for fighting those thrice damned necron fleets- Being able to combine DE lances and batteries onto the same platform is just beautiful. Every squadron can be a Necron hunter group (assuming those lightning arcs dont get em first)

Personally I think they're a waste on larger ships, as you can get 5 escorts instead of one cruiser, meaning you'll get 5 impaler shots instead of one. I'm gonna have a mock up game later and see how a squad of 3 perform.
