well, I know its layed out into the different regions as far as force selection goes, which is quite cool I think. I just hope they actually take away bows from everyone's standard wargear and give it as an option that way forces can be taken with a set theme (rangers of the north, rangers of gondors, harad raiders, riders of rohan etc) without the need for rules about "only models actually using their bows have them" which I have seen abused by people who just buy a load of riders of rohan and only use the bow armed ones.

October's not bad. unfortuneately I live in the US so we have no exchange offer, but I'm still very interested in getting the unified rulebook.

By the way, there are strong rumours that GW will be releasing new book based minis towards the end of the year. One will be Gildor Inglorian, an Elf of the House of Finrod.

Really? That is great news. :) Any more hints what we may expect to see?

Have fun,

Rolf.

There will also be new command minis as well, apparently for each race so one does not have to use character models.

I am not fussed about new Easterlings command models as apart from the Dancing Queen champion there not bad. I would like some Rohan command models.

Some Rohan command, both mounted and infantry, would make me a very, very happy camper.

yeah but i rather take a standard bearer that either Elrond or Gil-Galad. plus it makes each race equal in terms of command models.

I thought the Mordor Orcs already have a command? I know it came out for RotK but im sure it could be used for Orcs of other eras

Just receiving SOME command models for Rohan would have been a good idea. Shame they didn't bother when TTT and RotK were released...

GW did use the excuse that they were limited by New Line with the minis they produced during the release of the films. Something about helping to cross market the film.

generic command models shouldn't have been affected though

on-topic: I think this rulebooks picture is quite good compared to ROTK-version. It feels lot more better than Rotk-picture, that is too much from film.
