View Full Version : Potential Tyranid "Aircraft"?

I know there are no plans to have Tyranid "aircraft" - but I was pondering the possibilities earlier and thought how about these guys... http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/wingedrip.htm

Do you think they are too small?

They could form some sort of hybrid slightly larger gargoyle-like beastie?

Spitting acid or bio-plasma?

What do you think?

I think they would be a decent size, a bit smaller than most of the other fighters. In terms of rules... Well, I dont want to open up that kettle of fish, but Im of the 'Nids are too slow for a JET SPEED game' camp :p

I came up with the same idea some time ago somewhere else, and I still think they provide a nice model for the converting-lazy folks around.

For rules: well, make your own, or use "counts as" rules... and expect to get ptodded with sharp sticks. ;)

Considering they are so small I'd treat a pack of them as a Vulture-like vehicle but limited to maybe altitude 3 max.

Anyone know how big the BFG Tyranid ships are compared to AI craft?

Dig through the older threads. I posted some Tyranids for playtesting earlier.

Tyranid BFG ships would totally out of scale as the accepted general standard for BFG is escort sized ships 0.5km, cruisers 3km long, and battleship sized ships 6km long.

No I meant using BFG ships, probably the smaller ones, to stand-in as AI aircraft. Are they about the right size or too big?

They would work. The problem with those models is, that they just don't look as if they can move on their own, at least the Prowler class. The Stalker class could work:
