View Full Version : A few INQ questions

Hey I am new to Inq and my 40k group is playing our first game of INQ28 next week.

So a few questions:

1. Do you think GW will ever do anything else with Inquisitor?

2. Whats in Inquisitor Annual 2004?

3. How/where do you get INQ scale terrain other than making your own?

1) Yes, they just have limited resources in which to support the game, and Inquisitor has to share those with the other Specialist Games. Hell, last year we got the oft-delayed and much-anticipated Thorian Sourcebook.

2) Daemons, Unbound Daemonhosts, Space Marines, Chaos Psychic Powers, the Navigator, Navy Bodyguard, Eldar, Tau Water Caste Envoy, Chronogladiator, Daemonhuntress,Sgt Dorian Black Major Jackson and some rule amendments (long since incorporated into the Living Rulebook). Most of these are available from the Specialist Games site. There are probable some other articles I missed.

3) You don't, although much of the 40K terrain can be used for Inquisitor with little or no modification. I'm told the Cities of Death terrain is especially good for this. Good on you for thinking about 54mm.

Charax pretty much covered question 2 - although I think the Alien & Mutant generator rules are also in the 2004 Annual.

As for question 1 - I very much hope so. We've seen BFG v2.0 released in the last few months and there is a growing groundswell of opinion that the core rules need a thorough going over. But there is a lot of inertia in the original design team to overcome. Meanwhile, the Specialist Games Fanatic Online magazine continues to publish new material for INQ on a more-or-less regular basis, and Dark Magenta magazine is ramping up for its first issue (although I make no promises as to when that will be!).

For Question 3 - GW did release a 54mm STC habitat ruin - a prepainted resin terrain piece. It's not available from GW any more, but does come up on eBay on a fairly regular basis. eBay is also a good source for other 54mm terrain and some buyers post regular casts of things like barrels and storage boxes, tents, barriers and other items. However, the original 40k Gothic Ruins and Jungle Trees work just fine at 54mm, as do most of the new CoD terrain pieces (although you will need to join several together to get a building of a realistic scale for 54mm!). In addition, there are items available from Forgeworld that work fine at 54mm, including the barbed wire and ruined Administratum buildings.

Personally, I mostly use the regular 28mm stuff stored at my local club and we've never had any trouble with 80% of it.

On the STC ruin, pretty sure it wasn't prepainted, at least the one I held in my hands (but didn't buy because of the $$$ involved - pre CoD days anyway ;)) and the one I just missed on eBay (for cheap too!). Would like one, kinda neat ...

Hadn't thought about CoD stuff, hopefully I won't get too excited and buy into that plasticy goodness.

The doors on the CoD stuff are fine for normal humans at 54mm.

And now I come to think of it, you're right: the STC Habitat wasn't prepainted. But whilst I'm thinking of prepainted stuff, the Chapel of Sanctuary is also fine at 54mm.
