How many points do you get in the (now replaced) Batallion with 3 Peg Knights? I was looking into Brets (despite my not so good painting) because I liked the theme, and I am looking for a box that gave me a decent amount of points to start off. I would probably just get the Box with a Paladin or something.

old box:
KOTR unit(216ish)
Peg knights(3x55=165+up to 30 points of command)
16 M@A=about 100
16 bowmen=about 90

New box gives you 24 more points of M@A, but takes away 110 of peg knights.

The ONE good thing that they are doing is putting command bits in with the peg knights, but that doesn't help much.

Lets see, the old box had-
8 kotr- 216
16 men at arms- 97
16 bowmen- 116
3 peg. knights- 195
so a total of- 624 + two charecter blisters.

New one-
8 kotr- 216
16 bowmen- 116
20 men at arms- 127
and it depends on how you want the lone peg knight, either as a palidian or buy some more. In the palidian option hes 110+ points, or in the regiment option he is 195(but you have to spend $30 USD before you get it.)

So, IMO, the old one was better, but nothings better then Ebay!(unless its free;) )

Hmmmmm, a little less than I thought. Might have to get another unit of Knights with it. I was thinking of getting an army with good bang for the buck in the Battalion, but the only one I've seen that I could work with seems to be Ogres.

If you want real bang for your buck in a Batallion you can't go wrong with the loathesome Ratmen.

I designed a full Bret army using the batallion and a few other bits, got an army for less than 100 quid!

Ugh, just got done with Skaven, so sick of painting a mess of fur constantly, plus I dont really want a shooty army. I wanted something with a bit more bang on the charge and in CC, and since my brother already has had LM for a few years, I was looking at these 2 (OK and Brets). I wish I was a better converter, and had more bits around, or I would do some cool conversions. Wonder if my friend still has his 5th edition bret bits from the starter box...
