Well Making an army blog on one specific army has always seemed to be the kiss of death for my interest. Over this summer I have started a blog on Lizardmen, orcs, chaos marines, and almost began one on tyranids. Well at the current time I'm interested in chaos fantasy. So instead of starting a new blog I thought I would just throw everything I'm currently doing into one big one. So here's some pics to get us started;

These two are Warhounds. I do not feel like buying 10 metal ones for 40 bucks and I like the conversion opportunities of what I've already got. Still a little WIP.

this is my favorite. My Fyrwrym of Tzeentch spawn! WIP

And not related to chaos, here's a saurus warrior painted the way my lizardmen army (maybe) will be painted.

I like your Chaos hounds. Great cheap alternative.

Yup. Good stuff. I like the conversions on the knights too. I look forward to seeing these units painted.

Okay, minor update. I Did a little GS work on the spawn and he's coming along. I want to make it so the flamer body and the tail spout thing are popping out of a wyveren(sp?)/dragon, whatever. So here's some pics.

I'm finally putting some paint on these minis. I now have 1 painted horror. The job is....okay, but I think I can/will do better. It was a first try painting like this, so here you go, suggestions?

Well I now have 4 horrors completed. That's 1/4 the amount I need to start my army, but I plan on doing a little more as they can be warped from my opponet's models. so here's the squad so far;

Wow this stuff is great. The spawn is really imporesive. Good luck on the horrors man.

I've been playing around with dipping lately. Although only water-based stains, not that shinny crap. anyway I finally got the color down that I want, so the first pic is a skeletal steed with a stain/water 50/50 mix. It was too light for me, so the last 2 pics are a before and after staining. enjoy.

I quite like the colour of the staining on them, I've considered a TK army in the past and that's the sort of colour I wanted them. Never got round to trying though, you know how it is. Where's there's one army there's always another. ;)

I really like the hounds, their a nice alternative to the usual, and I like the painting on the horrors. I don't know why, but the painting seems to fit them nicely. You've made a good start on those knights, and I look forward to more. :)

So I've been making skeletons because they're easy. And I need someone to raise them, don't I? So here's my liche priest before dipping.

and after, with some sand. BTW in case you couldn't guess he has the cloak of dunes, so this is why he is covered in sand.

and here's what he raised.

ihave to say that is some of the most successful staining I have seen. (I don't like the shiney stuff either except on Nids).

Covering you succesful models in sand I am less convinced about. Could you not just have done the cloak?

bluebugs

actually harry, I only wanted to do the cloak, I fear he was a little wet. I can fix it though, it's not like the sand is imbeded into the model. And here he is;
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m176/Branjack88/TK017.jpg

Also, here's a flamer that I painted up. He does remind me a bit of McDonalds though with his red and yellow self, I named him Ronald Mcfondle.

Okay, so now dipping (although I feel what I do is "stain) has consumed me completely I feel this is how I will do my entire lizardmen force as well as my tomb kings. My chaos army will be done the "hard way" as the staining would not look good on them. So here is my second test skink, the first was just awful. So here is the ugly thing before he goes into the stain;

http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m176/Branjack88/lizards002.jpg

and after with a little highlighting and pupils.;
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m176/Branjack88/lizards004.jpg

sweet, 6 pts down, 3,000 to go!

Nice job on the dipping, but to be honest, water-based stains have substandard performance compared to polyurethane-based stains- water-based stains don't produce highlighting nearly to the same extent. For the shininess, all you need is dullcote.

that firewyrm is ace;)

I like the skink as well, you dip very well
