OK, so Iíve been collecting for a bit now, not that long, a year as of the start of September. So anyhow, my guard army has progressed over that time to around 1000 points. Thatís including 2 complete re-paints of the army.

Anyhow, Iím deciding to do a little gallery of all the things Iíve done, over time Iíll be posting up all the work Iíve done.

I have also just been bitten by the converting bug. No, Iím not really up to using copious amounts of greenstuff, but mainly Iíve hacked and glued different things into place, see the Sniper Colsan conversion for an idea.

Anyhow, so far, Iíve collected a bit of 40k to my name, it WILL be expanding, probably hit the 1500pt mark by the end of September, but so far I have:
Heroic Senior Officer
Master Vox Caster
Officio Medica Medic
Meltagun Specialist
5 Grenade Launcher Specialists
2 Flamer Specialists
35 odd Guardsmen
2 Junior Officers
1 Kasrkin Squad With GL and Flamer
1 Chimera Transport
1 Sentinel (Mars Pattern)
1 Pimped Out Leman Russ.
5 Ratlings

Anyhow, after a while of simply painting cadians, I wanted something a little more, it was only on the weekend I was playing GRAW online, and I was using the good old SCAR-ELGM, and then it hit me.
Shortened Lasguns.

I liked the idea of an IG army that looks like itís really mobile, but still ready to dig in and take all the crap coming at them (like all good guardsmen). So I grabbed the ample amount of spare Lasguns in the box and set about chopping, and came up with one.

So thatís the story of the shortened Lasguns, of which I am very proud. I have a Tutorial on how to make them, but Iíll post that later.

Anyhow, my first REAL conversion came not long ago, I was looting around my bitz box and found a Scout Marine Sniper Rifle, and was thinking Ďdamn, Ratlings suckí. So, using spare bitz from an IG Tank sprue, I grabbed the unarmoured body, a spare legs from a Heavy Weapons team, a Lasgun arm set and (strangely) a left arm from a Fire Warrior, and of course, a Catachan sentinel pilotís head.

So, cut, hack and chop, I took off the Lasgun from the right arm leaving just the buttstock and grip, and the Tau hand from the left arm, and replace the hand with one thatís supposed to hold up that same rifle.
Then it was all just glue work, whack on the backpack, scout rifle (less itís stock and grip), and head, and voila, dry, paint.
Welcome to the world, Sniper Colsan.

So that was my first true conversion.

But anyhow, thatís probably enough from me for now, Iíll post a load of pictures below on the next post, so bear with me. There are a bunch of them, so Iíll just link them, tell me of dead links please.

OHO, also before I go, I hacked up an old model jet fighter, and crashed it, essentially. Just painted it, but I think Iíll repaint it, because it ainít all too good. But either way, thanks for reading, and ENJOY.

I must admit my painting isn’t that great, but my New Look models don’t look half bad IMHO. Considering painting a heap of guard in one go can be a little taxing.
Anyhow, ENJOY!

Your army might not look bad but your "pictures taking kung fu" is bad (no offence, just improve it).

It is difficult to make anything out from the pictures, try taking them again with much more light so we can see!

Do you have a better camera? Perhaps some sort of backdrop? Sorry, I can't really see that much in these photographs, which I think is a shame because it looks like it could be a great collection.

It's great that you're painting your army and want to show it off to other hobbyists. Finishing an army and sharing it with others is a big part of the fun. Please, keep it up!

Regarding photographic quality, try and make sure you have enough light from at least two sources to get better pictures. Use a tripod or steady the camera on something that won't move while you press the shutter. There are great online tips on how to get good pictures of miniatures from Games Workshop. These are extremely helpful. Go to http://us.games-workshop.com/news/whitedwarf/assets/GW_US_Submissions.pdf

....you have intrigued me. Is that a converted Vindicare in the second link? Very sexy....I also love the paint scheme, and the lascannon team base...

This belongs in Modelling, Painting & Terrain and - oh joy - we already have a "show off your IG pictures"-thread there.

Thx Finn. Indeed that is supposed to be Vindicare but i use him in Necromunda too sometimes.

Army still need a lot of GM to be painted. The project takes a lot of time but its rewarding :) Lascannon is not yet finished.

Well, heres the first decent piece of terrain I’ve made.

I used a Hasegawa hobby kit, and it’s a Corsair II attack fighter. It is a bit small, but I rationalize that it’s something akin to a Lightning, with only a few hours flight time, developed to be cheap, but provide some air cover, and in huge numbers.

Anyhow, took a pair of clippers and just snapped chunks out, used an Epoxy (Selly’s Knead It, cheap, smells nasty, but you get heaps of it) and used it to glue in the sides, poke some of the bits you broke off into it, and go nuts!

I plan to leave a few remnants around, namely a piece of Lascannon I’ve had sitting for ages, and some various other things, then just build up some terrain around it. If I can, I’ll leave an injured pilot (anyone with bitz? Please), making a decent objective marker.

Anyhow, here are the pics.

Sorry about the pathetic quality, my camera is **** and I’m not to great at photography. Hopefully I’ll get better, or see if I can borrow a camera from my mate, and take all those photos…

Anyhow, enjoy!

It's a Vostroyan sniper - you get 2 in the blister pack, that model and one with a serious moustache.
