Hey all,

I thought with the rules for team logo's to get into the next stunty tournament coming in this would be a decent thread for the techo ****** like me to get help.

As you can probably see the chicks logo looks poo to say the least.

Here is what it is:

Now then Tenpole what can you do with that mate?

I don't mind if you have to butcher it up and perform all sorts of techo magic on it but if you can make it look decent and the right size for fumbbl then that would rock.

Google image ... I tried Squigs and got nothing.

Then I remembered a film called critters from the 80's .... and this is the 2nd image if you search critters.

I figure he looks like a squig :)

I have made a logo for the Shadows Fall division in the WBBL Open. And one for my team. The Tobaro Bay Buccaneers. I have used GIMP. And in the Gimp window, the white area is transparent. But I can't make it transparant when I save the file. What am I doing wrong.

I would guess you are saving them as jpg file looking at the properties. Gimp will let you delete backgrounds but the final save version must be a gif file for transparent backgrounds. Also you are can only have 256 colours with a gif file so be prepared for quality to deteriorate. I might have a go at using gimp myself but it is going to be hard relearning a different graphics software.

Thanx Ten...
I need to do it all over I see. The white background still shows somewhere. And that don't look too good. But now I know why I could not make it transparant.

There you go!

[edit] the white still shows here but on the pith it should be transparent.

This was very difficult. I did try to add another girl on the other side of our squig but I was restricted due to memory size. Also what was very hard was the skin tones were the same shades as the background and what with the original picture being a gif format it really made it hard so I had to go around the edges pixel by pixel.

This is what I have so far.

That looks great,

A huge leap forward from my crappy effort.

I'd just run a smoother on the edge of that pic, just er... smooth it over...

Problem with doing gif pics with see through areas is that they often take up more space than regular jpg files of the same size. If you can get away with it do it in jpg and you'll get a bigger picture. Although some pics need the edges taken off etc.
