WarSeer is a private forum. The WarSeer staff reserve the right to remove any and all user submitted content (for example, articles, forum posts, pictures, etc) and take action against the user if the submitted content violates the Forum Rules.

If you break the Forum Rules you will, in most cases, receive a 'Verbal Warning' from a Moderator or an Administrator.

If you break the rules again you will receive a Warning together with a number of Warning Points. Warning Points expire after 365 days. If you collect 30 Warning Points within a 365 day period, your account will be banned.

In addition to issuing a Warning together with Warning Points, there may be occasions when we feel a temporary suspension of access to WarSeer is also warranted.

There may be occasions when a rule breach is so severe we may issue a permanent ban without previously issuing a warning. This will not be done lightly. However, there may be circumstances which require this 'ultimate sanction' to be used

If you are issued with a Warning, you will receive a Private Message and an email from WarSeer explaining why the Warning/Suspension or Ban was issued. In addition the number of Infractions and Warning Points will be displayed below your username. Please note this inofrmation can only be seen by you, the WarSeer staff and no one else.

If you feel that you don't deserve the Warning/Suspension or Ban which has been issued and wish to appeal the decision, please post a thread in The WarSeer Helpdesk or contact us via email using the Contact form

Please note: donating money to the site does not protect you in anyway from receiving warnings or being banned from WarSeer if you break the Forum Rules. No refund of donated money will be given if your access to WarSeer is temporarily suspended or permanently banned.

Listed below are our Posting Guidelines. Please take the time to read them and keep them in mind when posting on WarSeer.

1) WarSeer is a family forum. There are users of all ages here. Therefore please do not post offensive or vulgar language (this includes offensive or vulgar slang words), sexual or violent images or descriptions of sexual or violent images. Additionally do not post links to websites which have such content or adverts for such items.

2) The language of this forum is English. Whilst it may not be your first language, please try to make yourself understandable. Remember most of the members probably do not speak your native language either. Please do not use numbers instead of words, for example some1, and sms-talk, for example I'm going 2 b good.

3) Please do not post in l33tsp34k, for no other reason that it really, really annoys posters.

4) Please keep your posting polite and civil. WarSeer is a community and there is a person on the other end of the discussion that may, and probably will, interpret something the wrong way should you be rude.

5) When you compose your post, then please make sure that it is easy to read, and has a good structure. A good post is quicker to work with, and deserves a good reply.

6) Please do not type long, dragged out words, for example, NOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAY!!!!!. It causes horizontal scroll bars. This also applies for the location field in your Profile. Likewise, please do not post attachments or link to images which do the same. Please use image editing software to scale your image appropriately.

7) We recommend you use the default colour scheme for your posts. Should you opt to post in a different colour, please make sure that it is easy to read. If you receive negative comments about your text colour, then you have probably chosen the wrong one.

8) Please respect other people's choices and opinions.

9) Do not make fun of other people's painting, their miniatures, or their armies.

10) Please do not treat the forums as if they were chat rooms. They are not. Granted, a few of the forums are for casual exchanges, but the heavily used ones are intended for discussion and debate.

11) Never air personal disputes with other users on the forums. Should a disagreement arise out of something posted, or if a post results in personal offence, please do not hesitate to report the post or send a personal message to a Moderator (listed as Inquisitors) for guidance or assistance. Never start a thread or post about a private quarrel.

12) Remember, stay friendly, even in Private Messages. If you are unhappy about the content of a Private Message, please report it to a Moderator (listed as Inquisitors).

13) Once you have posted, and you wish to change or add something to your post, please use the Edit Post . Please do not 'Double post' (submit more than one post in succession directly after another of your posts on the same thread). If you accidentally Double Post OR submit your post twice, the same Edit Post Button can be used to delete the extra post.

14) Please try to stay on topic. If you think of a new idea whilst posting on a thread, please start a new thread and do not to hijack someone else's thread.

15) Before you post a new thread, please look at the forums available. Then decide which is the most suitable forum for your topic. Be smart, do not just post in the first one available.

16) If you are not sure if the thread you wish to start has been posted before, please use the CHECK IF ALREADY POSTED option which appears alongside the Thread Title Field on the POST NEW THREAD screen.

17) Please do not post duplicate threads. Posting the same thread in more than one forum (including The Chaos Wastes) is not allowed. Please choose the most appropriate forum for your thread and post it there. However, it is acceptable, to include a link to a thread in your signature.

18) When replying to a thread please take a look at the date of the last post of said thread first (especially if you are using the 'new posts' feature). Only add a post to a thread if you have something useful to add and if the point you are going to make has not already been posted. If a thread has not had any posts added for a few weeks, its better to leave it alone and not post on it.

19) Please do not 'bump' a thread. This means posting on a thread purely to encourage people to post a response. These posts will be treated as spam.

20) Accusations of 'cheese' or 'beard' should be backed up with evidence. If you do try to pursue this point, then please try to back up your comments with logical and sensible views.

21) Please do not submit posts or threads about illegal file sharing, or link to such file sharing web sites, on WarSeer. WarSeer is trying to build up relationships with various companies and being associated with illegal file sharing is not something we want.

22) Please do not post threads asking for advice about personal relationships, medical conditions, legal problems or any other issues where it would be prudent to seek professional advice. WarSeer is primarily a site to discuss gaming, painting and making models, not a forum to seek advice on issues which ideally require advice from trained experts. Therefore, threads of this type will be removed without warning from our forums.

23) Threads which discuss politics and religion are restricted to a specific forum on WarSeer which is only accessible to members who pay a subscription to WarSeer. More information about becoming a subscriber (or Guilders as we call our subscribers) and be found here .

24) Using the symbols and markings of 'real world' nations/regimes outside of their original, historic context, on models or in illustrations - will not be allowed on WarSeer because they may cause offence. By this we mean we will allow the posting of photo of a model of a German Tiger Tank complete with the relevant Nazi markings because it is in historical context - those marking were applied to such vehicles, but we would not allow a photo of a Space Marine with Nazi era markings to be posted. This restriction is not limited to Nazi emblems but to any 'real world' emblems used outside of their original, historical context.

25) Please be careful about posting flashing images. People with photosensitive epilepsy can have seizures triggered by flickering or flashing in the 4 to 59 flashes per second (Hertz) range with a peak sensitivity at 20 flashes per second as well as quick changes from dark to light (like strobe lights). Images which fall into this category will be removed from WarSeer without any prior warning.

26) Signatures. Please keep signatures to a maximum of seven lines of text, including blank ones, using vB font size 2. Please do not include images or pictures or attempt to create images using text symbols in the area set aside for signatures, it is for text only. Any attempt to create a signature as part of a post will not allowed and will be removed. Please do not include links to websites from which you gain personal benefit such as referrals. Please do not post links which are misleading or are deceptive.

27) To advertise commercially, please contact Wintermute.

The following are not allowed on WarSeer. If you break these rules you will be issued with a number of 'Warning Points'. The number of Warning Points associated with each rule is listed in brackets.

Inappropriate Conversation Topics (2 Warning Points)
Includes anything that does not belong where it was posted or posts which are meaningless (Spam)

Flood / Advertisements (10 Warning Points)
Includes multiple posting of the same content and/or advertisements for third party commercial websites or commercial services.

Trolling (10 Warning Points)
Includes any posts that were designed with the sole purpose to invoke conflict.

Ignoring Guidelines/Staff Requests (10 Warning Points)
Applies to situations when a member has repeatedly ignored the guidelines or ignored requests from staff to adhere to the guidelines

Violation of Intellectual Property (15 Warning Points)
Applies to posts which contain, or link to, material posted without the permission of the copyright holder. It also includes advocating obtaining or reproducing intellectual property without permission. For example this would include posting statlines/ rules or images taken directly from a rule book or advocating illegal file sharing. It would also include advocating or promoting the unauthorised copying of models/miniatures or parts of models/miniatures (whether they are currently in production or not), and/or the sale of copies of products using the intellectual property of others without their prior permission.

Repeated Profile Abuse (15 Warning Points)
Applies to offensive / inappropriate images for Avatars, offensive / vulgar words for Location and ignoring the rules governing signatures etc

Offensive / Disrespectful Posts (15 Warning Points)
Applies to posts or private messages which contain offensive language, descriptions of sexual or violent imagery, or demonstrate disrespect towards forum users and/or staff. This includes insulting a member's race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, region/country or nationality

Offensive / Illegal images (18 Warning Points)
Applies to posts containing or linking to images which are offensive or illegal. For example pornography or images which depict graphic violence etc

Arguments / Noncompliance (18 Warning Points)
Applies to posts that are intended to create / continue an argument after a final decision has been made by the staff, and posts that demonstrate carelessness towards staff requests.

Clone Accounts (30 Warning Points)
Clone Accounts are not allowed

If you do break these 'rules', you will be subject to our Moderation Policy

If you see something which breaks our rules you can report it to the Moderation team. To do this there's a little symbol at the lower left side of every post just like this . If you click on it, you'll be forwarded to a report form which can be used to notify the Moderators about a problematic post.

Please do not abuse this feature and ONLY use it to report spam, advertising messages, problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts, images which are not suitable for a PG-13, 'family-friendly' audience or anything else which may breach WarSeer's Forum rules.
