Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Somewhere around 2002 or 2003, my Wraithlord:

Although already finished in ~1998, but reworked a few years ago, my Vyper:

And one of the many WIP-pictures I have, a more modern Farseer:

More pictures will follow, although I got far more WIP on my desk than finished minis or squads, but I'll show all of them in steps.
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Hurray! Great paintjobs, and I do love those classic Eldar, I still have a heap myself.:) Can't wait to see more.
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
WOOT, new logs! But, the first part of the name: Ynn'eal remindsmeofthe awakening Ynnead ;) So, did you try to combine bieltan with death? If so, I would enjoy seeing something deathy?
But your paintinf is seriously crisp!!! I am envious
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Yea, as I said. Biel-Tan the rise/rebirth of the old days. Ynnead is the God of the Dead. The theme of Ynnead and the Swordwind and pattern of Biel-Tan are my absolute favorites while on the other hand I totally dislike the symbol of Biel-Tan. So... why not combine it? Ynn'eal Tan ;) The runes are a mixture too (look left and check my forum-avatar).
What exactly you mean by "would enjoy seeing something deathy"?
Thanks for your compliments though. :)
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Nice improvements from the older work to the more recent.
Looking forward to see more progress!

I mean, they look so bright, something like a biel tan sylvranos looks better becauseit is darker and looks more

hope it works
if not

I suggest using GW washes in order to accomplish that effect
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Gonna make some pictures of my Fire Dragons, they aren't that bright. But the bright green/white pattern will stay that way. :p First I love it that way and second it fits the twisted idea of the Craftworld that Ynnead will be the saviour who will bring back the Eldar to former glory, slay Slaanesh and allow Eldar-souls to be reborn (also the ones within soul-stones could get set free again to get reborn). So they think every death will bring them closer to their goal. Sounds a bit suicidal, but it's the deep anchored reason why they have the "Path of Renewal" and why they are so aggressive:
All for a bright future... so they hope :p
PS:
Washes are good, shading is better. So I'm not washing miniatures any more. Either wet blending or laying with juices. I have passed the times of washing.
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Here's a Fire Dragon, finished last year:

The Exarch is currently getting another base and the rest of the squad (WIP) will be posted along with the Exarch when the base is completed.
Comments welcome again ;)
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
This army is stunning, I hope you're able to keep the quality as high with all the little guys!
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
That (and the fact that I work on two dozen of minis at the same time) is exactly what makes my army (or the painted part of it) grow so slowly :p
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Great stuff. The paint jobs fit the eldar very nicely! I like the not quite GW colours on the aspect warriors you've painted. Not a big fan of the standard colour schemes to be honest. It's good to see the old minis getting such love!

Too true. I too suffer from the unpainted part of an army growing faster than the painted part!
Hope to be seeing more updates soon.
Cheers!
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
I like your freehand design's on the Vyper (and your Grav tanks shown in other topics) a lot. Very clean and crisp.
When looking at your Farseer i noticed you don't undercoat your models? is there a reason for that or am i mistaking?
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
I don't undercoat all models, but most. The reason for not having undercoated the farseer is basically that my primer had been empty and I didn't have a new one at hand, but I felt like painting it ;)
So...
I have reworked the base of the Exarch, but right now I realised I forgot to paint the basic base-edge black. Doesn't matter for now I think ;)

Here's the rest of the Fire Dragon squad, but still heavy in progress:

Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Nice dragons! those tiny fire effects on those shouldar pads are really cool :)
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
I like the shading done on the helmet and sword ;) Very vibrant!!!
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
The exarch matches very well with your signature Hendarion.:)
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
Hehe, yea. Those bright colours over all a classic (or my) Eldar army are the reason for that signature.
Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan
These are beautiful. In fact, these are the best painted eldar I have ever seen. That includes golden demon winners. These models have something lacking in others I have seen. I can't put my finger on it but they are truly lovely.
