Or, for that matter, who really is perma-dead? Look at Marvel comics. Captain America seems to die and come back to life every year. But I'm guessing GW prefer the whole Game of Thrones grim-dark dead-is-dead approach.
Were you on any drugs while you wrote this post? I'd really like to try something that makes it seem to you that Captain America dies and comes back every year...
Besides this, Marvel's approach to character deaths is not one I'd like to see reproduced in other mediums. It stems more from their laziness/fear of developing new characters (which might - but doesn't have to be - stemming from the nature of the wider audience), than anything else.
And staying dead is suddenly 'grim-dark' approach ?

Not on drugs no, just on a four-day Marvel binge with the release of the Ultron trailer. That explains that post. But thank you kind sir for your pointed concern for my health!
And I was speaking specifically about Krell, the chaos wight who seemingly dies and resurrects more than any in the Undead Legions.
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
Well the undead are pretty easy to reanimate. Nagash can easily restore most of them with ease at this point. It takes a lot of magic and/or a powerful magic item to make a powerful undead being perma dead. In fact doesn't Settra try to do that with Arkhan where he has a powerful liche priest and his helpers ready with a ritual on stand by to try and permanently kill him?
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
Current Casualty List
Crom
Ku'gath
Festus
The Glottkin
Louen
Fay Enchantress
Karl Franz (now 'Ascendent'?)
Grand Theogonist Volkmar
Kurt Helborg
all Amethyst Wizards (now shades)
Thorek Ironbrow
Eltharion+Stormwing
Everchild Aliathra
Apophas
Others:
Balthsar Gelt (defected to Vlad)
Heinrich Kemmler (killed but will be raised by chaos?)
Settra (killed but raised by chaos)
Ariel (sick in the oak of ages)
Vlad (carries poison from Glottkin)
Arkhan (carries curse from the everchild)
Did I miss any?
Glottkin, Karl Franz and Volkmar are available in current plastic kits, so seems strange to kill them. All others are in finecast or have no model.
Looking at the Empire finecast special chars, Leitdorf was already dead, Helborg is now dead, Gelt has defected, are Schwarzhelm and Wulfhart next? Valten and Huss are still in finecast but seem to be alive and well... could they be the next emperor and grand theogonist to replace Franz and Volkmar in 9th?

Are you only counting people with models? In any case, King Kazador.
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
Are you sure that all Amethyst wizards have died? I'm not sure about that.
And you could add the elvenvampire Eldyra of Tiranoc in the Others-Section.

Yeah, the college collapsed, but I don't think it was said that they all died.
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
It did show that the survivors have been changed into weird ethereal beings. Shame, they were my favorite college.

Weren't at least some amethyst wizards such beings before? I remember that their patriarch (In this case matriarch/ magistrix) was descriped as being something between living, dead and undead.

Yeah, but look at all that cool stuff the Undead and Chaos got to make up for it! :shifty:
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
In my opinion: It did show that one of the survivors has been changed into that being. I don't think that all of them became like that.

The change however works well with their theme of "tragically misunderstood" they had going, furthering it. The changed amethyst wizard aiding the empire and being killed for his efforts is a great example of this.
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
Wait... how is it possible for a Daemon to die, Ku'gath? There isn't anything like Tesseract Labyrinths in fantasy is there?

Except that it isn't a continuation, it's an end. At least that is how it seems to me.

That is how the whole enterprise seems to me.

at deamon can die with enought forces is used, Anerion almost destroy N`kari and in 40k esienhorn manage to perma kill a deamon
Of course that means the killing blow was really, really strong
Re: Who won't survive The End Times?
If in 40k you can destroy a soul, I believe daemons can be killed with super psykic effort of course.
Maybe in fantasy with enough magic
