Hi all,

to train my english I decided to become member of new international Tabletop-Board. Former a druchii.net member I get bored there and leave because I develop into a new direction creating more different stuff than only druchii. I wrote a short introduction about myself in the introduction board, if someone is interested in some general questions about me is invited to follow the link:

Here I will show progress of my current projects, the development of them and of my skills. I´m looking forward to discuss my work with you and hope you have some feedback, critic and ideas for me.


A bigger project I work on is a small 500 pts Beastman Army with mark of slaanesh:

The horde consist of:



a shaman with mark of Slaanesh

a herd of 7 gors / 5 Ungors

a Chariot

a unit of centigors


Further I have made some experiments with Slaangors a year ago which I will continue to finsh a whole unit of them. This Slaangor is also basis for the design and the colour schema.

The slaangor idea based on Raffaele Stumpos fantastic unit which won gold on GD italy 2004.

The other things I will add as soon as they are ready for show them.
Next two weeks I will brak the beastmen project for work on a small project, converting and painting a high elf noble for the Games Workshop high elf painting challenge. I will add pics this evening.

Secondly, WOW! your painting is amazing. The colour transitions are perfect and the colour choices are great. I don't know if it's just the photo but the model looks a bit grainy.

Finally, good luck with your phd and I look forward to seeing some more pics of your models.

Are you spraying with a black primer and then dusting with a white primer to help with shading? Whatever you're doing its obviously working for you.

hmmm... must be the pic, the mini looks better.. or the Camera see things I didn´t see?!?
This can also be because of the priming technic, but I will disappear with some more layers of colour.

The base is a mix of Scorched brown and liche purple. This mix is light with dwarf flesh. For the last highlights I used Bleached Bone. For the shadows I use a general shadow mix of Chaos Black and a bit Hawk Turquoise. This mix I use for very darken parts or to darken colours like the basic mix. Also I use some "Lasuren" (sorry don´t know the english word) which menas very thinned colours which is only used for effects more than colour something. Here I use Graveyard Earth and pure scorched Brown.

A tutorial, that is really difficult for my blending technic. It´s hard to describe in words and more difficult in writing it, especially in english. But I will think about that.

@ the priming techic combine both positive effects of black and white priming (GW Primer).

I do it in the following order:

- soft black priming
- paint the whole miniature with thinned Chaos Black
- short shoots of white primer in a 45° angle from all 4 base sides from above
- short shoots of white primer in a 45° angle from all 4 base sides from below

The result should look brown / greyish
Avoid a totally white result!

This priming is needed to work with thin colours on a white Priming. There is need of as less as possible colour-layers. The rough surface helps to attache the thinned colour better to the surface. In the end you get a thinner paintjob and the miniature looks colourd and not painted.

Even if the miniature is painted with zenital light as a light source I don´t use a directed white priming for light simulation.


@ all,
how promised here the pics of the high elf conversion. It´s very hard WIP but you can see the development of this miniature. Because the new high elf prince plastic sprue is a very bad one I only found a few bitz which were useful to create a prince on foot from Chrace. I hope you like it:

I'll definitely try your technique of painting over a "black than white" primered surface, thanks for posting it. Oh, and on a not-so-side note, your painting is amazing as well as your GS skills.

I've seen the priming technique before, will deffinitely give it a go sometime as it certainly produces jaw-dropping results if worked correctly and yours are certainly fantastic examples.

I'm not sure it'll work on necrons which is what I'm painting at the moment, I don't think there are enough deep recesses to make it effective.

Because of the priming technic, I learned it from Jeremie Bonamant a Master of Painting and after the first tryout I was convinced this is very useful. Be careful to have a thin priming and that the white primimng is homogene and the surface isn´t closed, How said the result look brown or grey.

Eceptional work GeOrc.. the Slaangor is stunning, I love the contrast between the muted flesh-tones and the metallic areas and the blood splatter in particular is very effective. I may have to give that primer technique a try.

The High-Elf is also very nice.. you're a very talented sculptor.

I started work on the flesh tones of the centigor unit:





And also I sculptured a bit. I bettered the cloth of the highelf in the midsektion and also on the edge. Now it looks more compact:
