    Vampire question

I tried to find this but to no avail.

In the Warhammer World is it possible for non humans to become vampires (Ex. Elfs, Dwarfs)

    Re: Vampire question

I think so, but I don;t see many high elfs wood elfs or dwarves letting themselves become vampires (I think you have to drink some of the vampires blood to become one in warhammer.) And I don;t really see vampires gifting vampirism to skaven orcs or goblins.
Oh No the apocolypse is here, I will be on the roof if you need me

I must warn you I am not all there, see there is a part of me over me, another piece over yonder, and would look look at that another piece has just walked up behind you

    Re: Vampire question

No - Vampirism is humans only according to Rick Priestley.

EDIT: Wait, no. No member of the Elder Races can become a Vampire according to Rick P. Orcs are unknown. Ogres and Halflings might be immune to it as well, depending on whether or not you class them as an Elder Race.

    Re: Vampire question

A vampire would only turn someone that it would wish to spend eternity with. Turning someone like a Dwarf would mean having to haveto deal with a Fat, gold and blood craving grumpy dwarf forever. would you want that? Elf is more likely. As for other races i doubt orks biology would be compatible. And a Halfling would need so much blood to feed on they could never hope to be able to sustain themselfs!

In theory, yes. There's a story in the VC book where a Strigois vampirises a DE aboard a Black Ark in revenge.

    Re: Vampire question

I'm tryna remember some of the funky vampires in the old Genevieve novels..
Pretty sure there was some strange variations in the "vampire retirement home".

No, you didn't read that wrong.

Oh and Eldem - willingness generally has nothing to do with it. I think it's generally accepted in most realms of fantasy that if a vampire wants to turn you into a vampire, you've no choice in the matter. If all else fails, they can just hold your nose shut while squirting blood from their wrist down your throat..

    Re: Vampire question

Well Vampires are created origionally by humans adapting a formula orgionally created by a human (Nagash) designed to give humans eternal life.

Afterwards it was done with a method, probably involving a blood transfusion, from one of the Human vampires to a recipeint.

Admittedly thats not saying that it only works on humans, merely that its not designed to work on the other races.

As it stands though there hasn't been a vampire from other races stock featured in the game so far so i'd hazard a guess at no rarther than yes.

    Re: Vampire question

Dont the vampires have to break the will of the subject first, else it'd go mental? As such: Good luck trying to get an Elf or a Dwarf to say yes to that.

    Re: Vampire question

Unfortunately I sold my book some time ago. The vampire hisses something like 'as I am, you will be' and vampirises a Corsair leader.

    Re: Vampire question

Well, I can tell you it's not in the current book at least. That's a story involving a Skaven Assassin and ghouls/Strigoi. And I don't think I've heard of that story before.

That's no problem. You'd have to die before you can become a vampire.

Seriously, I agree with Ad-Hoc here. No mention of vampires from other races has been made in any background as far as I am aware, and the original exciler of life was indeed made to grant humans eternal life. What would happen if the curse is transferred to another creature is anyone's guess, but there is currently no evidence they'd become vampires as known to the old world.

    Re: Vampire question

i think that is a bit of bullsheet as the strigois were only intruduced in the last edition of wh and the only story in there about them was the afore-mentionded skaven vs strigoi and ghoulies

Elves have an immunity to things like Diseases and Magical influences of that nature including Vampirisim.
Book: "What are we up to, sweetheart?"
    River: "Fixing your Bible."
    Book: "I, um...(alarmed)...what?"

a skaven vampire......now thats a cool thought lol
as for your question no its only humans...
    They recalled the paint sprayer.
    "They have a defective nozzle.

    Hate it when that happens.

I did half expect them to say "Due to the unforeseen number of injuries due to Customers attempting to turn the GW Paint Sprayer into a flame thrower..." LOL
