Look we all felt that impact from t-tauri and the Warseer Moderators doing what they thought was right and clearly, me included, we were guilty regardless of what we might think.

Now I know I'm pretty livid myself, but I am pushing that aside in favour of actually trying to see if we can regain some sort of order. I chastised players of mudslinging and then I go right and do it inside the Pile of Limbs OoC. We don't need to let a show of force break us all apart now do we? We're mature people and as a forum we have developed as a Community.

This might seem odd, but I am calling that each player take a step back like I am and will be doing, even though I am still wanting some questions answered, in which I believe Luthor's Shadow and RampagingRavener are actually trying to get answered, I want to think of the immediate Future of this Roleplaying Forum.

Yes, we lost Archaic Abbatoir: Pile of Limbs and even though it was a really fun and invovling RPG, it did conflict with the views of Warseer and its rights. Recall we all agreed to these Guidelines when we joined this forum and even though the Roleplaying Forum is a rogue sub-forum, we are still subject to its rules. That much has been proven by t-tauri and his display. However, we have not lost Conflict of Interests, The Infection and Year of the Scorpion.

There are still three RPGs out there that had players who may feel they were wronged by the Inquisition in the thread in question and I feel that we should not fall apart because of these actions. Perhaps, the Moderator can look more closely into this and actually take into account our pleas and our distress even though it conflicted with the Rule. That much I think we can ask for, but for now, we need to think of the Forum and its still active RPGs.

So this is a shout out to the players to say that as a GamesMaster and Player for the past seven years (God don't I just feel old ), that perhaps we do need to watch our posts and keep some things in the clean as RampagingRavener and others have suggested. I don't want people to leave over something this silly as its true, I was outraged and livid, ask Luthor's Shadow and RampagingRavener if you don't believe me, but now there are other things to be concerned about.

Its nearly Christmas and its also that time of Year where new begginings can and will happen. So I say we just put this event behind us and just move onwards and see what comes of it. I doubt the Moderators will be as serveve as they were with Piles and perhaps would be more willingly to offer warnings instead of outright banishment with future violations.

So who's still out there and who just wants to roleplay and have fun? Things have not changed, we just need to remember restraint. Myself included

Pretty much just seconding what Slaz said. I posted this over in the Limbs OOC thread at the same time Slaz was doing this thread, though it was much shorter since I'm far less articulate.

One other thing, directed at the people who may be leaving, or thinking about as much. Especially those like DukeAchillius, Richter, Blagrot, and Luthor as well.

It will be a damn shame to lose you. There's a lot of good RPers here, and while of course you have to follow your own path, I'll be sad to see people leave over this. Yes, it's a lot of confusion, and disruption; I'm not happy with what the Moderators did either. But such things happen, it's not the first time, and unfortunatly it probably won't be the last.

Personally I do think the enjoyment of RPing, toeing the PG13 line or not, is worth these occasional, unfortunate, upsets. And I'd hope that the other people here think the same as well. But in the end, your descision has to be your own, and whether you leave or, hopefully, decide to stay, good luck in everything.

I do think this forum has a lot to offer and, as cheesy as it sounds, has affected me in some ways. I've met some really great people which have introduced me to some things I wouldn't have found otherwise. If it wasn't for Gribbs, I wouldn't have been introduced to Anime, and I know through contact with Slazton I've become more self-confident, online at least. It's improved my creativity and writing skills, to the point where I'm starting to think about trying to write a Novel.

Personally I know I'm not going anywhere; if nothing else because I've invested too much time, energy, and imagination into the forum just to up sticks and leave. Like I said, I'd encourage others to do the same, stay, let the two weeks around Christmas and New Years pass and let things get going again. If you do decide to leave, it'll be sad, but you have to forge your own path.

I'd also like to apologise for the occasional snap at people; I do try to keep them closed up, but I'm not perfect.

PG-13 allows for some sexual *implication*, but never for the acts themselves to be portrayed *in view*. Describing them in a Thread would clearly be *in view*... Be clear about whether or not what you saw on TV or in the movies was *implied* or *explicit*. PG-13 allows for many things to be *implied*, but for very few sexual things to be *explicit*.

I believe I might have been hasty in my actions and it is a trait most common of my own nature. Looking back at it, I am just as ingrained into this forum as the rest of us are. We each have left our own marks and yes, I should be inline with the fact I have commitments to the GamesMasters RampagingRavener and Slazton as well as those that have continued to post in Infection with its slow rate of movement.

Yes the loss of Erirna is actually going to hurt, but I still have my Infection crew, Lilia and Delilah with Daisy Dukes to think of. I would like to encourage Hate Train to do another RPG if he can and perhaps we just keep things within the PG-13. We did do wrong. We took that Rule and broke it without any real concern for the reprecussions. I was personally foolish and should have kept restraint.

I feel that this forum should just shrug it off and call back to us forum goers and enjoy ourselves. Admitting I was wrong is actually harder than you would believe, but starlight, in his/her advice, has given me confidence that this was not a calculated attack or nothing personal. What was done was done as it would have been done if a poster in the Random Musings was asking questions about where to find Child Pornography or something else that conflicted with that rule.

The Infection thread is still going strong and I would be ashamed to close it right now, especially with it reaching its near climax. I would also like to see Richter Kless, Blagrot Squibreff and Hate Train stay within the forum as these players are good players and they should not be discouraged with us getting what we deserved and asked for when you think about it.

So for now, I do not think me leaving the forum over this would be reasonable. So I believe I shall be staying and I hope that the rest stay.

What a difference a day makes, and all that...

There seems to have been quite a lot of stuff going down, and some laying down of the law with regards to the old PG13 rating. I ain't going to get involved, as Pile of Limbs ain't my RP; if you don't mind me adding something to this, I just wanted to say that if you guys head, then all the best; personally I think the band that has built over 2007 has made a damn fine cast, and it'd be a shame to have them all leave over this.

Seems like RR is doing his part to sort it out, and kudos to Slaz and LS for being mature about it.

Maybe thisll provide the motivation to actually finish an rp for once.

I second 2HT, over the last few months we've all come together in one RPG or another here to form an amazing group. It would be a shame if this incident broke us up.

Also HT if you get piles up and running again, or start a new RPG count me in. As for the other RPGs here I know Iv been absent as of late, But know Im sticking around. I apologize once again for my absence Ill catch up over Xmas and post for both within the next day or two.

Bah, you'd think I'd leave over something like this? Frankly I had a good chuckle at the whole thing (because I'm a bastard). If you look at the whole thing, all that's happened is one RP moving to another forum (of course I was asleep during most of this "mudslinging" so I don't really know what all the fuss is about. Damn Americans and their crazy time). I can't really see that any harm has been done, I doubt there are many youngsters who can be bothered to read through the amount of text in a RP (I blame the hip hop). So I reckon it was just a stamping down on this like a french king would stamp down on independant though, in case it spreads to other lands.

Anyway, I bet someone called me a bastard for suggesting egg and soup for everyone but now I'll never know.

I swear to God, the next time characters start trying to have sex in the middle of a firefight, I GM them getting eating by zombies. Horribly. Painfully. See if I don't.

I know that we're our own little mini community within the forum, but if you want to RP that kind of stuff, there are other forums you can go to. Now lets all have a big PG-13 hug and get back to the RPing eh?

It seems a passing Moderator stuck this thread. Now this is pretty scary .

We got dealt the hand that the Almighty Dealt Us and unfortunately Lord Asriel is not living in this Realm or it would have been bloody. I've only been with this forum for a few months or so it feels like, maybe longer, one is never sure with time, and already I know that if Infection were to die miserably before I could finish it all because I left, well I reckon people would be looking to wonder where Salem, Oregon is on the map .

Now then I would want to say that we are a Group and we should act as such. Being allies in a War is easier than being Enemies and in my opinion, the Moderators will loosen up once they realise that we are no longer delving into the deepest reaches of Human Sanity and making Japanese Hentai seem tame.

Now if you will all excuse, I need to sleep some more of this hang over off.

Seeing as now we have the sticky thread, we might as well as spin this off into a direction rather than letting it decay.

Once upon on Portent I held a GM/Player Interaction Conference where new blood and veterans could openly speak their concerns about possiable RPGs, how the forum worked and other features like it. Now I think its time we go ahead and get that restarted. With the New Year cominng, we may as well as begin the Roleplaying Conference thread once more.

So I propose, to furhter elliminate infractions and breaking of the PG-13 forum rules, we should have an open ended thread for discussions and the usage of the forum. Hopefully new players will become interested with this thread and use it as a direction.

Ok i have not logged on to warseer in a very long time and seeing as this seems to have been turned into a thread for all thing RP that do not releate to a specific RP thread (and combine that with my irrartional fear of making new threads) I'd just like to say one thing to the community on here.

Played mountians of rpgs over the years but never online so, how does it all work?

Well, first the GM of a 'freeform' RPG (the creator and writer of the plot and narrative, and director of the action as with normal RPs) posts an Out Of Character or Sign Up Thread, with an intro to the scene and setting of the RP, in the case of WH or WH40K ones, or those in another established world or universe (such as HALO, Cthulhu Mythos or Red Dwarf..! They're all here...)
Ones set in an original universe (created by the GM) as seem most popular at the moment, like Archaic Abbatoir or Blood Of Martyrs, will of course need more description and background info from the GM.
Next come parameters or guidlines for character creation- fairly self-explanatory, but this process often has negotiation between the GM and prospective Players, as the presence of a players' great idea for a character may have an impact on the RP or some ramifications in the setting itself (this as opposed to a normal RPG, where its usually just a straight yes/no to your half-Dark Elf or Nordik werebear request).
There are no 'rules' per se, but some RP threads have characteristic stats for a comparative idea of your characters' strengths, skills, prowess etc. The GM's job is of course to guide the narrative overall, from one scene/location to another. Contribution follows a simple method of Posting in response and reaction to previous post/s, or OOC pointers from the GM, and negotiating between players.
But just read through some of the In Character Threads here for examples of all the above. Hope that helps.
