A new year, a new start, a new army, The Cadian 69th!

Greeting one and all, hope you have all enjoyed a good festive season and a fantastic new year!!

Now onto the log itself. I began painting a few guard for a friend and decided that i quite liked them! So decided that they will be my new army. Mainly because they aren't power armoured and because i do like the models. I will still be continuing my angels sanguine army and adding more for apoc games. Also by doing guard they will make so cool allies for me!

So then the army is the cadian 69th. SO far i have 4 painted and the rest of there squad is undercoated.

The sarge has been started. The first four were painted before foundation colours!

I have another 3 squads, a leman russ and a command squad for starters, I will post my list soon when i work out 1k to begin with!

I like the colour scheme, you don't get many purple IG. The fatigues are done well. Very nice.

I am a little stuck on the bases? How should i do them? I would love to do cityfight but it won't go with their colour i think?

the fatigues are really good and it could be city fight they could be the city guard

Is the purple jus Liche with a warlock highlight, or have you done somehing different?
On a related note the guardsmen look nice and unique, well painted too.

Ok so they shall be city guard. Now to decide what city. I shall also post my 1k list i will be working towards later and possibly a pic of my assembled russ.

Ok so not much of an update till later but there will be pics on there way.

I have also decided that i shall try do the bases using a city theme but like a lost city in a desert or something like that? What do you think?

Also in a 1k list do you think it better to have two russes or a russ and basilisk?

You probably don't want a lot of green on the base. I'd leave the rim black and then go for a rocky outcrop look. Dark brown sand and grey rocks. You could even add long stemmed weeds from brush bristles...

Nice, clean, origional colour scheme. They're well painted, you should consider texturing the bases tho, it really improves the overall look on the model, though they look good enough already IMO...

Can't wait for the tank, nice work!

Well having nearly died from being unfit last night we did win!

Im not sure about the russes scheme yet,i was thinkinf similar to the cadian GW scheme and just replacing the green with purple? Or going with a black and purple? THoughts?

Baising wise i like what your saying LOTE and its what i had in mind i just need to work out how to pull it off!!

I have a day off today so once i get my list of things to do done i will try to finish this first squad! Pics later! POssibly even with a good camera and not my phone!!

Nice.... no REALLY! About the list maybe you should try using the doctorines (might be I'm saying this just because i think they are sooo cool) and using some rough riders (only a five-man squad in 1000k list) is very helpful as some counter-attack when the enemy gets too close (if they ever will). The tank is gonna sound nice I'd go with the normal GW cadian with purple replacing green.

Yeah i will use them i just keep forgetting!! Plus i still dont quite have my head round the wording, some more studying of the book shall bring some light though.

As for my day off its not been as much of a day off as thought as im in thr process of moving to oz so alot to organise but i did get the army out as it stands to see what i need and i may still get time to paint when im back from the gym.

Not looking like much i know but this is going to be done on a budget so i plan to paint this before adding to it so i can save some money first!! I hope to work on the first squad somemore tonight maybe, def tomorrow night. The empty bases are my HW teams! Just with no models lol.

Finally, where would one get all those lovely tamiya tank accessories from as i cant find them on the website!

Ok so this may not be a cadian update but i thought i would let any who are reading this plog kknow that i will be re-starting my bolter and chainsword blog from my sig and these are the angels sanguine models on my painting table at the minute!!



An honor guard, always wanted them but never seen the use in normal games due to their points but with apocalypse i have an excuse!!

NExt up is a librarian i began painting just for some fun and decided i would include him in the AS army as mephiston rules, hence his turquoise armour!!





And finally a very WIP land raider which i must say im not enjoying painting!
