Putty old chap, marvelous stuff on that shuttle, the edging is very striking, particularly where its dark on the main body, less so on the wing where the base is lighter.

Whilst not keen on the whip, the carnifex is nice too. I think the green sorta comes from nowhere a little. It's not a colour you've used on it, or the gaunt, but is suddenly there. IMO, I think it would work better being the same colour as the tongue, maybe sharpen the end of the whip to try and model it more like the tongue. It seems a little chunky in places. The carapace however, is sweet. Nice work!

PS: Taking a look at your chaos... I like your knights! (You thought I was going to mention the marauders, didn't ya? Well ha! Oh wait...)

Hmmm whip? What whip? Uh... the green tubes are the feed for the guns and they are venomous, hence sooooo greeeeennn...

I do agree the green is SOOOO striking. Your idea for a more organic approach (using purple and pink) is an idea worth a try!!

I'll probably tone down the green with blendings of blues and purples, to give it a more organic look, i did think about how to add more detail to the tubes and your idea confirmed my suspicions!

My Undivided Knights are "okay". My Khorne knights are an embarrassment, thats why I didn't post a pic of them LOL!

And thanks for your approval of the shuttle terrain, they are lotsa fun to do and I really enjoy the results for them!

My fiancee likes the shuttle terrains too!

Finished two test BoM models today. A battle weary Ultramarine and a fleshgaunt:

Did some touch up to the Carnifex... added pink to the veins of the venom sac, washed the area with abit of sick blue and toned down the luminiousity of the pipes with some verduran green.



Finished a Spinegaunt too!

Oh bless, they look so cute, but they grow up so quickly.

You seemed to have developed a thing with drybrushing, and whilst its creates a good result, I can't help but think layering would be better. Saying that however, you probably won't get the same result so keep with it.

Actually I use a mixture of layering, drybrushing and glazing.

I'd admit, the drybrushing on the spinegaunt and SM isn't that good, i usually rectify the problem with some careful inking.

but them gaunts are so small... i'm having abit of a problem not over drybrushing them. LoL

I like the result of the Hive Behemoth (red and black) fleshgaunt, pity it won't be my scheme haha!

The primary coolness of drybrushing is that its a quick and good way to both do some highlighting and abit of detailing (and weathering), usually the main problem is my highlighting is better when i'm not painting 4 test models at the same time LoL; this is because I use one drybrush and changing colours to drybrush usually means the brush will not be totally dry.

hence the "overbrush"

The Hive Behemoth gaunt and the Carnifex are examples of good drybrushing, but my spinegaunt is not!

but your right... i love to drybrush, especially on big models!

Inuendoes aside, it does look good. Bit more controlled and it will look fantastic.
