Woah the puddles look even better up close.
And I love those houses.![]()
Thanks. The first time I used watereffect, I poured it straight over the surface. But it looked strange, because the watereffect flowed between the surface and dried all wobbly. So than I took hammer and chisel to carve out a few spots on the table. These areas are flatter. I painted those brown, and than black in the middle. Poured watereffect in them and it looks more natural now. With a few puddles, I carved into the main mdf board accidently. A nice side effect, because the puddles now have a natural looking bottom. I also used a different bigger green flok around the puddles to create the idea of waterplants...

It is looking better and better!! Those puddles look very realistic now, great. The barracks look sweet on the entire table. Good to hear you also managed to support the tables better and prevent most of the warping. The 4000pt army looks nice too together!
Cheers
Looking very good.![]()
Thanks, you're all welcome to play a battle if you're in the neighbourhood!
I bought a manual on how to build rocky terrain, I've been reading through it and hopefully I can make some cool hills in the near future.

Wow man! This tabletop is absolutely amazing!
Even without the (great looking) additional scenery the tabletop looks outstanding.
The puddles look very realistic, I love them.
State of the art!
No updates, but a picture of the table beeing used. I finally played a game of Warhammer again. Orc & Goblins against Empire. The Empire general is sitting overlooking the battlefield.
The game ended in a draw.

How about a battle report or two?Photo, lots of photos.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
I guess we could do that, if we play again, Ill bring it in.

Very impressive table! looking forward to doing battle on that once![]()
Dutch, hmm? If I am not mistaken, I have not yet asked you where exactly you're from. Needless to say, if you're from around Zaandam, check my sig.
And your gaming board looks awesome. I am prety jealous. Any plans for a new board? Seeing as this one is pretty much finished.

Hi, I live in Groningen. And in the next year I'm planning on building another board. This board is ok. But the downside is moving miniatures around. You really have to lift the whole movement tray or mini, otherwise it's going to get stuck. It's because the sand I used, it's just to big and uneven. I'd like a pure simple grass meadow kinda board, where you can just slide the miniatures around... So what is the best material for that? grassflock?

If you don't mind your board not looking its best, then one of those grass mats will be fine... Easy to apply, very gameable, and quick to do. Just not very nice to look at, without some extra work.

Well, I played a game on this table yesterday. And all in all, I'm not that unhappy at all with the playability of the table. You just have to lift the movementtrays of your units a little bit when you move them. So as soon as I have a bigger place to live I will try to update the table with a river, rocky parts, a watermill and a small walled town.

I like the finished look of your water effect pond, they look great in the photos. What depth were ponds before you poured it on, and did you layer it on or pour it in one go?
Just wondering as I am planning to use some on my own swamp terrain.![]()

The depth was about a half to one centimeter. I poured it in in one go.

Nice start.
PS. What did you base your trees on? I based some on plasticard, but the flock doesn't stick well.
