Warmaster Orcs & Goblins (with a bit of BOFA)

    Here is my latest army.
I have finally succumbed to doing an O&G force after finding loads of the rare ALT OOP units for them (as well as some of the BOFA stuff).

So to start with 2 units fo spiders of mirkwood.

Now down to the Orcs and goblins.
I intend to do around 3k of these whilst also doing a pure Goblin list off of the new list coming out soon.

    2 Rock Lobbers

A BOFA storm giant I am using as one of my 4 Giants

    My Goblin General (also BOFA)

Ah, very nice. Warmaster O&G. Very good choice on the giant model, it's so superior to the WM O&G giant. I still don't get how GW aren't capable of making a nice, classic giant (for either WM or WHFB). The last metal one was so-so, I didn't like him much, but the current plastic orang utan really is the worst so far (along with the albion ones) in my opinion.

Anyway, neat painting so far. The choice of colour reminds me of ...classic tabletop army looks. The way people painted armies before everything got clustered with all the "advanced" materials knowledge. I have to admit that your choice of colours looks a little random in places. I'm not sure but maybe you'd want to go for a more ....consistant colourscheme?

If I may be so bold and suggest leaving out the purples and tone the yellows down to a bit more ochre or brown-ish? I don't want to sound overly critical but I thought I'd rather be honest.

I really, really like the red-brown wood of the rock lobba in the right and the blue troll on the other rock lobba looks so greatly classic. I also like the level of detail you keep up on these tiny miniatures. Maybe you should post a picture to show how small these warmaster minis really are. Here is a size comparison shot I did back when I did a fairly big WM painting commission so you all know that the minis azraelezekiel is painting actually are small.

Looking forward to seeing more updates soon!

    Thanks for the comments.
@Sigur: There is no purple? As for a scheme I plan on doing 2 factions one red/yellow and one blue/white so as the army grows some consistency should show itself.
As for the 'criticism' I welcome your thoughts, I might try toning down the yellow with a brown wash. That being said the best 10mm O&G armies grab your attention for metres away thanks to their gaudy colours

    Hi azraelezekiel,

Very nice! I think you've improved with every army, and these guys look just great. I like the dual Wyvern option, which I guess is necessary given the tribulations of issuing orders to the green horde.

Do the spiders have rule as yet? Or are you using them as goblin spider riders aka wolf riders?

I hope you are using some of the WM orc boys (rather than the BoFA ones) because they are such nice miniatures, and I'd love to see how they look. Enough inspiration for me to get back to my WM Empire and post here soon!

Re: Warmaster Orcs & Goblins (with a bit of BOFA)

After looking at the new chaos dwarf list I decided to paint up my botfa goblins so that I could use them in any of the new goblin & orc lists or as hobgoblins in the CD list.
Here are my wolf mounted heroes

and 4 units of wolf riding (hob)goblins.

The rest of my wolf riders will be GW and a couple of spider riders.

    Thanks rufus.
Due to complete lack of interest in WM painting and moselling on this forum (except for by WM fan boys ), I am posting all my future work over on the new SG site.

    Catch you later.

Re: Warmaster Orcs & Goblins (with a bit of BOFA)

    Hey again!

Very nice updates so far. I'm also painting Warmaster Gobbos right now and maybe you could help me with some information...I'm assembling spider riders with some BOFA spiders thrown in and I was wondering about two things: How big is a warmaster unit ca.? Three bases at least? Also, what's the heading of spider riders? to the broad side of the base or the narrow side?

    thanks

those wolf mounted heroes are Rad. I probably need to pick up that BoFA set somehow.

Warhammer 40K is like LSD to me:
It's expensive, it lasts too long, it makes my head hurt, but damn I love the visuals.
