If you can find it, there was an Epic Vostroyan thread (with sculpted hats), but it might have morphed since then. There are also a number of Epic armies in this year's Tale of 40 K painters. At least six armies are still growing.

I think I remember that thread. He was really making some headway on those, a real unique looking force. However, I went back through maybe 12-15 pages of the SF Project log forum looking for anything with the word "Epic" in the title and I didn't see it.

The Tale of 40K painters is a rather large thread with dozens of painters taking part? It's a shame that the Epic painters haven't made their own threads so we can avoid the 40K stuff. Still if you give me the link I'll add it to the list.

I do not think it is a shame. Considering the views it attracts every month, I think it is a good display window directed towards the 40K players who were not active during the heydays of Space Marine. If Epic is to grow, it will do so by attracting new players from the 40K arena. They already know the background, but have not been in contact with "the superior" rules and more enjoyable gaming experience

The recent popularity due to the BoLS coverage, Groover's articles and the Tactical Command overload and break-down also seem to support this theory. As an ebay trawler, I can also confirm that Epic auctions has become twice as expensive the last months. I can feel a disturbance in the force...

Chaos and Evil's Elysians are for 40k, not epic.

Muahahah! Well I'm glad to hear it Silentbob. Your Dark Angels are amazing and was a big inspiration to me (and a lot of others). Not to mention your advice on sculpting with green stuff at 6mm scale.

And thanks for the link. Dancing Monkey's Vostroyans are one of a kind.

Maybe creating a "post your epic mini's" thread in painting and modelling projects/general would be an idea?

Might be a good place to garner interest in epic and also provide a focal point for epic mini's. Just a thought...

Couldn't hurt. I'd probably put it in general so people can put "one off" miniatures in it. It might appeal to those who don't necessarily care to keep a log but, like me, go about their painting in a random and lazy fashion.

Speaking of which, I'm still awaiting a Black Templar update

    reference: random and lazy

All kidding aside I've actually been doing a lot of work, but none show worthy. Just assembling models, cleaning mold lines, filing gaps, basing etc is a hobby (read "chore") in and of itself.

I've been going back and forth between, is it better to have all your models game ready or painted? Right now I'm leaning towards painting. I have a tendency to assemble models and start gaming and never get back to them again. Hoping to do away with that bad habit I've recently started tackling a formation at a time.

The Black Templars infantry are a chore as I have to do converting on their heavy weapons and sergeants with banners, robes etc. I do plan on getting back to them soon, but right now Eldar seem easier (that was until I started converting fins for my jetbikes). Ah well..

Anyway if a "post your Epic model" thread is started in the painting general section I'll make sure to put up a link to it from here. People can also feel free to announce in this thread if they've posted there so we can all go and check it out.

Thanks for digging out my vostys.

I've been real busy with Warmachine as I'm playing a lot more and attending touneys etc, but some headway has been made on the vostys and they will return once tourney season is over.

Top work on the thread also, its great to see so many of the top quality epic logs on the site.
