It should be noted that the top of the arms is best attached to the torso a little lower than it normally would be to provide extra length in the arm. GS padding is required anyway to make the bigger shoulder pads fit nicely so it's not really an issue most of the time.

Also the first bit of GSing (number 7) should be allowed to cure before moving onto the next step.
Thanks mate! This is more efficient than the method I've been using! I'll put it to use in the near future! :-)

I'll post some close ups tomorrow. I'm considering putting them up for sale actually.

I'm starting work on a few characters to lead the Mark V artscale army I've been ponderously working on. This one is a counts as Pedro Kantor. I've tried to give him an authorative commanding pose, ordering his troops to move their asses to the objective. I really wanted to try another scratch built power fist after the one I made for my Huron Blackheart conversion. I did it by adding greenstuff over a standard powerfist (with the fingers trimed off) to give me a slightly scaled up fist. The fingers took a bit more work, having to cut each part of each finger from plasticard sheet and gluing together (requires a lot of test fitting). I'll post more details of the fist in my next post.

The cloak and banner are from the AoBR captain (again more detailed pics next time). The basic model is nearly done, the next stage is adding all the gorgeous details that make him a Captain.

Wargamer43210's dread definitely has the right looks, but IMO is a bit too big as it's as tall as a two-story house (in-scale, of course ). Would love to see you tackle a dread though!

    Cheers,

Thanks guys. As much as I want a couple of dreads for my own force it's not something I can set aside the time to do for a while. Perhaps in 6 months or so. I'm going to redo my Master of the Forge with a servo harness at some point maybe I do the dread at the same time.

Most of the conversions in this thread are commissions for other people (I'm no longer accepting new commissions by the way, before anyone asks ), but my own army, if I ever find time to build it will be a Lamenters force. I'll be using the BA codex, but it will largely be a display army. My Master of the Forge and Ezekiel conversions are both intended for my Lamenters force.

Re: "Artscale" Space Marines (a truescale project log)

I managed to acquire a FW Huron model and decided to go ahead with my idea to transplant his shoulder pads onto this model. Whilst this might seem difficult at first, simple patience and some whittling down of the resin from inside each pad gets the job done. I replaced the crux terminatus with a little space for chapter iconography (that'll be up to the painter). I had intended to add details to the back of the fist but I felt the model would simply be overloaded with imagery (how many eagles can you fit on your armour? hehe).

I'm quite impressed with just how nicely the AoBR captain can be converted and incorporated into other minis, I might have to get a few more (he has the nicest power sword too). The fingers of the fist were built of three pieces each and two for the thumb, all cut from 2mm thick plasticard sheet and very carefully trimmed and filed. I'm sure there are a ton of other things I should say but I've drawn a complete blank, so feel free (as always) to just ask.

Oh yes! The Huron shoulder pads are spot on. This guy has come out incredibly well. Great composition. The detailing on the powerfist is enviable

I think I'll be asking the guys at Studio Colrouphobia to produce some work for me in future, I really like their style and vision.

The greens for casting are having to take second place to other projects for a little while but in the meantime, here's where I am so far with the Mark II legs. It's in the standard Space Marine pose but still needs detailing up with lots of rivets and trim. After it is cast I might use this as the basis of a Mark III, as they are virtually the same except for the addition of added plating on the front.

I haven't yet, but I'll certainly get in touch via email soon. I want to have my first prototype figure finished first (being worked on right now), but essentially, I'll be needing supporting artwork for a product range and it's own game system... and you guys are first on my list of people to contact
