Hi probably the strangest question I have asked to date

In the last 2 editions of SH doors are placed in a square

In 3rd edition it looks like the doors have a special place on the new board sections where the join together and rooms, is this so?

I looked at the rules and it mentioned nothing other than the scenarios would tell you where to place, and looking at the pictures..... leaves me to believe they might have made space for door to go on...
