    Dark Eldar Battleship

Because the Dark Eldar have no battleship in their list, I decided to make some rules for one. Here are my rules for a Dark Eldar Battleship.

You take the Eldar Void Stalker, and change it up to make it more Dark Eldaresque. This way, I have a solid, balanced base of rules that only need some tweaking.

Dark Eldar Agony class Battleship ............................................... 300 points

    Type/Hits | Speed | Turns | Shields Armour|Turrets
    Battleship/10 | 30 | 90 | Shadowfield | 5+ | 0

    Armament | Range/Speed | Firepower/Str | Fire Arc |

    Keel weapons battery | 45cm | 12 | left/front/right |

May take up to three of the options below at the price listed

    Prow Phantom Lances | 45cm | 2 | left/front | +20 points

    Prow Phantom Lances | 45cm | 2 | front/right | +20 points

    Frontal Phantom Lances | 45cm | 3 | front | (may only take one) +20 points

Launch Bays | The usual | 4 | - | (may only take up to two) +40 points

    Torpedo Tubes | 30cm | 6 | front | (may only take up to two) +20 points

    2 Impalers | 30cm | special | front | +20 points

    Special Rules:

Speedy Behemoth: Does not automatically CTNH but can use CTNH and it's firepower is only reduced by 25% instead of being halved.

Its speed is made slightly slower than the Dark Eldar cruiser class ship, as is normal for battleships. The weapons batteries are bumped up from the Void Stalker's 8 to 12 in order to match the Torture's weapons batteries.

The Lances are given the same strength, because even though pulsar lances are more powerful, the weapons batteries have already been increased, so it about balances out. But the main advantage over the Void Stalker is the increased armor value, which is bumped up to match the Torture class's value.

I think it fits in well with the Dark Eldar list. It's slightly less deadly than the Void Stalker, but at the same time is more resilient. I've tried to make it worth taking in higher point games to counter enemy battleships as opposed to lots of torture class vessels.

What do you guys think, any suggestions? Is this a reasonable profile?

EDIT: thanks to the profile that Fracas posted up, I have decided to add to my ship some options to make it more Dark Eldaresque.

Saying the other guy was cheesy is a crutch so you don’t have to admit any personal failings. Make excuses! Don’t face painful truths, don’t improve, don’t ask for a friendly rematch, just be bitter and mutter under your breath how you should have won.
