It is with great sadness that we have learned that our colleague Brimstone passed away suddenly on 20th December 2009 from a heart attack.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.
Brimstone had been a member of the WarSeer Staff since the site's inception and had also been a member of staff of our predecessor Portent.
Brimstone, you will be greatly missed.

I'm still in shock over this, having chatted with Jon often in the days of portent and the early days of Warseer, and also occasionally on facebook, 42 is no age and my thoughts are with his close friends and family this evening

My condolences to Brim's family and friends. He's been a figurehead ever since I joined portent back in the day and his avatar has been synonymous with this forum for me through all of its incarnations. I'm sad to hear about his sudden passing - Rest in Peace.
As Wintemute says, you will be greatly missed, even by those of us who've never had the fortune to make your acquaintance beyond this forum, as your eloquence and witty humour made a lasting impression on all of us.

Jon Wilson was a cornerstone of the wargaming fraternity on the internet and within his gaming club. Helpful, cheeky, just, fair and an all round gentlemen. I feel happy I could call him friend and although we only met a few times at various events he was a great bloke.

A grave tragedy, Brimstone has always been, and always will be, one of the greatest of the Portenters and Warseers.
I did not know him personally, never did chat with him extensively, but he was engaged in a lot of threads in which I was, and as far as I could tell, he was a very fair moderator at that. To have lost him is indeed grave.
And even worse for the ones who knew him, and losing a member of a family cannot ever be described in words. My deepest condolences to his family and his friends, and this close to the holidays as well, the internet will be a worse place without him, and this world just a little bit darker.
Rest in peace Brimstone, you will be missed.

Wow, Brimstone is gone? My condolences to his family. He has always been on Warseer, and on Portent, he is half the reason that 40k General and Rumours has been cleaned up from the state it used to be.
