Bunkers, barricades and battlefield bits

Is your ground work grout mix over sculptamold? It looks like proper soil.

Off cuts of blue XPS foam for the rough shape, then sculptamold to fill in the gaps and cover the foam, balsa frame for the bunkers, bit of cheapo filler for gaps then, sand bags made from Milliput.
PVA over the sculptamold and a sprinkling of fine sand, then painted with Artiste acrylics (Amazon about £1.50 for a 59ml/2 oz pot). Light drybrush with Vallejo 'Dark Sand' & some washes and pigments ( a very thin watery wash).




Unfortunatly I didn't take many WIP pictures. Made four 'trench' sections, three with Bunkers; a mortat pit, howitzer emplacement, a couple of open ended trench pieces; a gate, an ammo storage thing and a watch tower.

More fuelled by lockdown boredom than anything, I had a load of offcut of that XPS foam left over from a 20mm project, a few sheets of 3mm MDF & half a bag of sculptamold...
I had been looking online for any 28mm US base type terrain, slim pickings and either not to my taste or very expensive, so had a go at DIY.

Had to see if any 40k kit would fit, just took some pics of one piece with a large'ish tank thing:
