UPDATED FIRST POST! First time here? The log proper starts just after the contents! A few little things before we start:
If you want to visit my Ogre image gallery, then click here.
Anything written in orange means that it is a commissioned work that won't be appearing in my own army.
If you want to know how I've done a particular thing then ask! If you have criticism, speak up and say it - I studied Fine Art for a while, so I've undoubtedly heard worse! Besides, if it helps me out, I'm very thankful.
If you want some advice on your own models or paint schemes, just drop me a PM. If it's someone trying to improve their own hobby, I always have the time to help out (eventually - I get a lot of PMs, so apologies if I don't reply quickly).
If you want to chat about the hobby, PM me! If you're local to the Bristol area or will be here on a certain day or at a certain event, PM me! I'm happy to bring models out if you want to see them in person, I'm even more happy to have a game whilst doing so!

Ogre Maneater Commissions
NOTE: Commissions are currently OPEN.
Several people have asked about getting a Maneater made for their own army. This is a definate possibility.
The current starting price for a commission is £90. If your idea is very simple it'll be low, if it's more complex, it can come in at more. If you want more than one then you will more than likely receive a discount! Gnoblars can be added where appropriate (and let's face it, when aren't they appropriate), but may boost the cost up very slightly. The price quoted includes parts for the Ogre (if you want specific parts I do not have, the price will have to go up, unless you can send them to me!), construction, any greenstuff work (which is almost a certainty), and simple basing. Painting is usually around 50%-75% of the cost again depending on the model. I can also do scenic bases for a little more too. Postage will be calculated as applicable. Obviously overseas (I'm in the UK) will cost a bit more. Each model will be a one of a kind.
The model will be made and painted to exactly the same standard as my own models. Requests for style of conversion are welcome but not neccessary. Painting scheme is at the client's request, as is basing (if you want the painting and basing to fit with your army, I will need photos of your models!).
I reserve the right to post all progress to your Maneater in this log.
Sorry that's a lot of writing and disclaimers and whatnot, but I like to be entirely open and honest about the sort of service I run. If you want your models made and painted very basically, then go somewhere else. If you want lovingly converted models painted to this standard with a friendly service you probably wouldn't get from other companies, come to me!
If you're interested or want more details, PM me! Even if you're just scoping out prices or ideas for models with no intention of commissioning, I'm more than happy to chat about that!
Army List
The plan is to make a 3000 point army. I have enough ideas for double that, so I can pick the ones I like best. There'll also be a bunch of extra stuff added when I feel like it just because I like the ideas. For now though, here's the 3000 point army list. It's what I'll be (broadly) working towards.

That's a basic army list, but I'm already definitely including several other Ogres in the army that didn't make the cut. I want to keep going until I think I've used all of my best ideas, then call the army done, make a scenic base for them, and finally enter them into Armies On Parade. So that army list serves as a guideline for what you'll see.
Alright, now all that's out of the way, the log starts here!

My new project log!
Now my Space Hulk box is completed (see signature), I am setting off on my next project.
The idea behind it is an entire army of Maneaters. One Ogre left the mountains to join a Dogs of War army, and has come into a lot of money. He now wants to rekindle the good old feeling of a bunch of Ogres going to war. As he is down in the Old World, he decides to use said money to recruit all the Ogres he comes across to join his cause.
And thus is born an army of Maneaters.
As far as rules go, they will function just like a regular Ogre Kingdoms army. I'll post up an army list for you all to look at later on.
As far as models go, every single Ogre will be from a different part of the Warhammer world. Their weapons, armour, dress and attitude will reflect this. This log will not be finished within a few weeks. Each Ogre will be heavily converted and sculpted to fit the theme.
Enough talking? I started the first Ogre today. He will be an Irongut who has spent altogether far too much time with the Dwarfs.
So far I have repositioned him quite a lot, and I've started sculpting the heavy armour on him. That stick poking down will become an axe.
Does the pose look familiar?![]()
