Quick question what are the names of the 8 steam tanks and which have there special upgrades?
They have deliberately only named and described a few of the eight, because with it being so few in the background, each player should be able to have their own tank(s) named and modelled as they like without feeling they are going against the established fluff.
well, I am kinda nuts so i want to make all 8 tanks. I know 6, but i was wondering if the other 2 are named or not?

I want to say i have models all the tanks that is all...
He may just like to collect themthem? I got 4 wyvern count-as (two actual wyverns, a wyvern like Confrontation dragon and a converted chimera) and have used one, what, 2 times during 6th ed and that's it? I can understand why he wants that. Anyway, my opinion is that one of them should be called the Man-Cruchcrush and be painted in suitably skaven-like colours![]()

Indeed, though you would need 9 then.
This may help you
Especially This (Make Sure you click Continue)
Gives a history on all twelve of the tanks, notable battles they participated in and there current fate. There were rules for variants (with a fighting crew on top, a mortar, a Ram, etc, but I can't find them at the moment. I'll let you know if I do. Note that the time machine has a tendency to dislike images (though the history page worked fine while I was there))
Hope this Helps
PS: There was a model made for the Rat Tank as well, I recall it having tracks and the Generator from the Warplightning cannon. I'll look for that too![]()
The Skaven never actually stole one of the Stanks now, did they?
There are two instances of rat-tanks;
1) One attempt in the Gotrek and Felix book Skaven Slayer, but it ends with it crashing into the sewers and exploding (and in the process destroying the engineering facility in Nuln where the Empire could have built new tanks).
2) The Rat-Tank in a WD scenario, (no doubt inspired by the story above, it had tracks as imagined by the skaven engineer there...) which model wise used the old original 3rd Ed Steam tank as a basis, but as far as the background went was built from scratch by the Skaven character in the scenario, not something captured from humans.
They have captured one - it was lured into the swamp around Skavenblight and then captured using poison gas or something.
I don't know about lured and captured. But originally several of the stanks were simply broken beyond the ability of engineers to even think about repairing without Leonardo around to help.
During the vampire wars one of the stanks was severely damaged, lost in a swamp and abandoned. It's fate uncertain beyond the fact that it sunk in a swamp and is definitely no longer in the hands of the Empire. It's that particular stank that was later quasi seriously referred to in an WD article about excuses to build skaven tanks.
The lost and sunk in a swamp part is mentioned in official fluff stories. The skaven part started in the tank article and just got out of hand from there.
