    The bearded one's lizardmen

After starting ( and somewhat neglecting ) a dwarf and a skaven painting log it's time to whip out those lizardmen of mine. With a nice jungly colourscheme and 2 primary colours that I think work quite well together I think it will end up looking my best army so far. I corrected a mistake I made in the building of my dwarfs, which is the basing. My dwarf basing is very dull, my lizardmen bases are more jungle-like, dotted with ruins and exotic stuff.

A selection of pictures from my other lizardmen Plogs. Notice how the quality increases at the last pictures ^^ I recently started working on them again after a hiatus of half a year or so.

Templeguard and saurus scar veteran on cold one ( with 8th edition sniping this guy went into retirement in a local pool where the hottest lizardchicks are spawned. Yes, the old ones were benevolent indeed! )

10 skinks with javelins & shields. Personally I think the basing turned out great. I also have 10 skinks with blowpipes, but with simplistic basing.

O darn that picture limit of 6!

A couple of ( at the time W.I.P. ) chameleon skinks converted from plastic skinks. I'll need to take a picture of the 5 completed chameleons when I get the chance, they're in the local GW cabinet.

    My first salamander

    Re: The bearded one's lizardmen

Well.. okay, 24 pictures might have been a tad over the top for 1 post.

After the salamander I went out of the jungle into hibernation with dwarfs.

My skink handlers, painted after a hiatus from lizardmen for about half a year. I picked them up again in November.

And the stegadon I got for my 19th birthday, behold it in several stages of progress! The skinks on the blowpipes, and the totems, are removable for easy transport.

    Notice the freehanded cracks

And on to where I am currently at, I am close to finishing him

    Re: The bearded one's lizardmen

this 4th post is the last one, promise!

My finished lizards in the GW cabinet:

And a ranked up skink unit with the stegadon skink chief as their skink champion. I hate wasting pretty models.

Speaking of which... my latest model: I used the skink priest from the steg, and his plastic throne, took 2 25x25MM bases to form a palanquin and tadaaaa! Skink emancipation! No longer do the Slann have a monopoly on palanquins! This guy is a regular skink priest but can also be used as Tetto'eko, the special character. I could only take 1 pic before the battery died, so the other pics will follow tomorrow.

Comments and constructive criticism appreciated. Enjoy!

Hey i like this scheme, and its well painted. The bases do really add a lot to them. There doesnt seem to be enough LM pics here either.

Always nice to see good looking lizardmen models! I really like the Templeguard and the converted chameleon skinks! Great work, keep it up!

    Re: The bearded one's lizardmen

Thank you I am really happy with how the army is shaping up

I think I'm an odd duck in the pond of gamers as my armies tend not to contain the powerful things available in the armybook. My dwarfs have no anvil of doom and usually only 3 artillery pieces ( 1 of which a 65 pts bolt thrower ), my skaven will have a hell pit abomination but no doomwheel, furnace, bell, grey seer, Eshin or Pestilens units and my lizardmen have no Slann, carnosaur and only 1 stegadon ( not an engine of the gods ). I guess I have some interesting 'solutions' in my lists to make them strong My lizardmen have 30 templeguard. ^^

    I agree with jormi...

he is classed as a slann in all retrospects. Although I have to say that is a damned nice model!

Really like your first unit of saurus! nice colour scheme going on with it all.

What are you using for the basing? Cause i have to say i really like the branches sticking out.

    Re: The bearded one's lizardmen

I was planning on using him as a regular skink priest and building a 40mm base for him to use as Tetto'eko, as the base is removable from the palanquin for easy transport.

Wow!!! I really like this! Very, very clean paint jobs. Wonderful color scheme. Love the way the stone looks. Very smooth. Great job.

Lizardmen sure is an attractive army when done right.

Aye, you've picked exactly the kind of army that allows a person good with skin tones and stone work to really show off. Well done. I'd love to see some more of the Chameleon Skinks too.

Echoing the comments of previous posters, your painting looks amazing.
The stone has a lot of depth and looks superb.
I also think you're colour scheme is very well chosen. Great basing too.

Really top notch painting and modelling here. Thought it couldn't get better than the dwarfs and skaven, but hey - what do I know
