Beppo this guy is amazing! I'm just painting up my first Ravening biker at the moment and getting pretty frustrated at some of the bits, I hope my squadron look as good as this when they're finished!
Thanks to you Beppo I now know where the wings go on my 'Lightcycles.'![]()

there's a property GW could pick up for gaming purposes. Not only is there a lot of cool pre-existing 'stuff', but building terrain and table for the game would be a cinch, not to mention painting!
ps. I'm not actually a fan of wings on my bikes. My normal ravenwing have the standard bike handle bars... but seeing that this guy and the command squad are 'special', they get the wings on the handle bars... but I did cut all their winged banner poles off.

almost done, got the tricky body done, just the arms and pack left to do:
the neck guard behind his head was completely unintentional. It was just supposed be some more rounded off robes. But once I got the robe coloured paint on there it didn't look right. So I repainted it black after looking at one of my other bikers, and presto. I couldn't have made one better if I was trying. Funny little accidents in the hobby world.
right arm and pack done, just the bird-arm and base to do:
nearly done, just got the bird left to finish off:

and finished the bird... to finish the model and army:

I sort of inherited these SM 'cycles (See my thread) and oodles of bitz but no building instructions (What'sa matter BA; never heard of google images?) well obviously not but the wings of which there were many didn't seem to fit but I was trying them on the wrong end of the cycle.... Doh!

yeah, actually, the normal Ravenwing winged handle bars slide in from the bottom, the ones from the dark Vengence set slide in from the top (or visa versa, can't remember). It's one thing I don't like about some of the newer GW kits, that some parts are required to be used together, or they are useless. I hate that.
So with the ending of my Ravenwing Chaplain, finishes off my Dark Angels army off completely (no more room left in the carry case, at all). So here is my Ravenwing force:

so I painted the Ravenwing with standard colours basically, though I did elect to keep with green backpacks. I find with Dark Angels, one runs the risk of losing the 'green', as one's ravenwing and deathwing forces grow. I figure marines do paint their armour, but that backpacks would remain chapter colours, mostly because of quick reloads and resupply's. But the reason was to get a little more green onto the ravenwing.
added a Nephilim Jetfighter in the form of Voss Lightning II:

my deathwing are obviously whiter than the studio style of DW. I chose this route because old fluff once told me that DAs wear white robes as a salute to their Caliban Knightly heritage. So green robes for Dark Angels are a no no in my books. So the problem becomes white robes on white armour. So to keep everything uniform, DW armour colour adjusted to a further white, so that my robes can match up with the rest of the army. Also, like the Ravenwing, trying to get as much green onto them as possible, given those constraints.

note 1: if you notice in my platoons, everything adheres to a 'rule of 3'. It allows me to switch special weapons and heavy weapon squads in and out of the three infantry squads that make up the platoon. Same applies to my HQ and command squads. 3 of them allows me to split up Heavy/Special weapons squads up and put them in squads or visa versa.
note 2: special weapons teams have been based like heavy weapon teams simply because I think I already have enough to move around

thanks bro. Not much left, but a few things still to do. Enough movement trays for all the 25mm. I've got enough 3-man trays inbound, but gotta do another order for 5 man trays. Then finally, a Shadowsword! Guncutter and knight (oh, and a single primaris psyker).
gotta start bringing my Black Legion/Renegade Guard force up to strength. They're at about 75% my loyalist strength, so not much to catch up on, and their paint jobs are on par, so the rest of the army doesn't require any upgrades.

at last, the final mini for the Steel Legion has arrived. A Necromunda Wyrd Psyker to act as my third Primaris Psyker. Chopped off the head of his ridiculous staff and replaced it with Grey Knights Banner Topper, primed and ready to go:

All done but for the top metallic highlights, but I'm out of runefang, so will have to wait 'til I resupply. Just a few vehicles to play with after this guy. Shadowsword, Knight, Stormfang, maybe a whirlwind to fill out my DA FOC
