Also the two remaining members (for now) of my Drow warband for Song of Blades and Heroes:

One wizard/mage that felt oddly familiar as I was basecoating him:

Then I realised, where I'd last seen him and I gave him a matching paintjob:

Oh well, that brings back memories . . .

Also, some of the new mission markers and some random dungeon clutter

    Thank you!

That screenshot is from "Die Schicksalsklinge" (Blade of Destiny) a PC game from 1993. It was a licensed game set in the "Das Schwarze Auge" world of Aventurien, one of the most popular rpg in Germany. I actually played both the computer game as well as the tabletop rpg for quite a while, so I may try to find more of these minis in the future...

    In other news:

    Some viking berserkers.

    A gaggle of Goblins:

    And finally a "nameless" mini:

I like how they combined both a cautious and a psycho-killer version of him in the set :"What can change the nature of a man? AN AXE TO THE HEAD, THAT'S WHAT!

Just to prove I haven't been completely idle, here's a small update:

Please excuse the potato-quality photograph, but I'm so happy I finally finished the barn. My big OCD Excel-sheet of Doom tells me I bought this in April 2009, so it took me just over 10 years to get this from built to painted. I can still remember buying it with the intention of just giving it a quick drybrush paint job. Well, so much for the best laid plans . . .

edit: I noticed the hinges and did them in dryad bark as well now

    Thank you!

And just to keep this thread proper random, here's four Irish with dane axes. I haven't tried out the new rules for Saga yet, so I'm really curious how it'll work now.

The barn looks good, meh 10 years, I just finished some Goblins from 2006, you work too fast as clearly shown by the Khorne terrain.

The Irish look good, a bit heroic scale, who makes these?

    Thanks!

I think they are from Gripping Beast. I put them on plastic round bases on top of magnetised washers I got from Stronghold Terrain so they'll stick in my carrying case and have a bit more of a base as well...

Re: Zemlod's assorted randomness - from Fantasy to SF and Historicals

I wanted to try out the new contrast paints on a couple of minis, so here's a speed painted snow troll from Reaper:

The skin was Aethermatic blue over bone undercoat (maybe should have gone for a grey undercoat...) with a bit of additional blue wash in the recesses. Leather was done in Snakebite Leather (the contrast, not the classic one).
All in all roughly 10 to 15 minutes total (excluding drying times). Well, the result is ok, I think. But when you factor in the painting time, it's a nice deal. I think I'm liking the new paints so far...

And in a similar scheme, although done "traditionally", some ghosts:
