Anyway, first six are done. Skirmishers obviously, so the general focus on mobility in their poses and thus round bases:

In other news: Camera is still hidden somewhere child-proof, so more phone pics unfortunately...
The turnips weren't the only strange things this year, I also discovered Mork Borg, so here's a Fanged Deserter with faithless companion:
I kept wanting to take proper pictures, but to avoid not posting what I actually managed to paint for another year, I'll just keep doing crappy pics until you tell me to stop...
I'll work my way backwards, so here's October:
A tree (Reaper)
Random monsters (Reaper)
Ghouls (Reaper)
Cute little rock monsters (Reaper)
Two thirds of a Kromlech chapel (the rest is still in a box somewhere, but after not finding it for a year I kind of gave up and painted what I could find)
Some dwarves, living and (un)dead (Reaper)
Ghost Pirates (Reaper)
Undead cowboy (Reaper) and some GW stuff that i had lying around half-painted for far too long...
So, yeah, another Reaper Bones crate dropped an I've been trying to not let these pile up too much...

And continuing backwards through this year, here's what I got finished in September:
That Planescape factol has spent far too long in a cardboard box, so while I'm not too happy about the kinda bland paintjob, at least he's done now
And as a part of a promotion on the Duncan Rhodes channel, ParaBellum sent me a box of their Conquest men at arms that I was determined to not put on the to-do pile but paint up right away.

Sorry for the double post, but I hadn't realised that the embedded/attached pictures are that slow to load. I switched over and put them sowhere faster to just embed them here. Also fixed a couple of broken ones.

Continuing with the backlog of painted stuff, here's some more Reaper from September
The Dwarf is from Scibor. The archer from HeresyLabs, done mostly in Contrasts but came out looking ok (i think) considering the minimal amount of time spent on her...
And finally having painted these is a huge relief for me actually. I had them (started but mostly unfinished) lying around since the last century. Possibly '95. So, yeah, the pic is a bit blurry and they are still missing the grass on their bases, but I'm super glad to be able to call them "finished" (for now).
In other news: A dwarf forge:
and some more terrain:

Perfectly subtle highlights, and a great collection of different ranges! Beautiful work mate!
Thanks! After the move two years ago I still find myself going through crates and boxes to try and find all of the stuff (labeling the boxes would have been a smart idea, but, well, hindsight is 20/20... On second thought, let's drop that idiom. 2020 is apparently still not over . . . Anyway, the result is that every box contains some little surprises and I try to paint what I find, so it's even more random than usual here
Some actual progress: Two of them already were in a previous post, but here's the full troop of dwarves:
They are really nice, crisp sculpts from the recent Reaper Bones kickstarter. These "bones black" minis really are a big improvement in casting quality i think. I dind't like the chunky bases they came with, so I chopped them off and put them on flagstone bases from Renedra.

Thanks! I've still not given up on the idea of one day playing the keep on the borderlands/caves of chaos with minis, so there's still a lot of fantasy critters to do . . .
Also, I keep experimenting with photo backgrounds, so here's an undead gunslinger I just finished:
He came as a sort of bycatch in one of the reaper bones kickstarter. I don't play any weird western at all, but the sculpt was nice and he somehow reminded me of a piece by Brom, so, yeah, maybe I'll do some weird western anyway...

While I already have a warlord for my Saga Vikings, this one came free with the new rulebook. The Rohan house does not look too out of place I think. so it'll have to do double duty for Saga as well...

Very nice! Painting his cloak red really will mark him out as a class above. I bought a Rohan ghouse for the same reason and yours looks great and you mat really suits it.

Now these I painted last year as another exercise in Contrast Paints (with some drybrushing an minimal details) but only got around to basing them this year:

Oh, is this thing on again?
Some random Reaper Bones cowboys I speedpainted recently... Sure, they're not pretty, but I wanted to try out that new "slapchop" thing everybody's so excited about apparently. Well, at least it was fast...
oh, and some wizards. Or sorcerors?
