    Nurgle beastmen; plagues abound!

Time for a new army, and with the new plaguebearers it's a good time to turn the original ideas I had for a beastmen army, to making it a nurgle beastmen army. I'm planning to put a lot of effort in it, and I kinda specifically want to build it to get myself a 'best-painted-army' award. This is the testmodel.

    1) Awesome looking test mini

    2) Good for you for starting a Chaos themed beast army. I'm not a huge fan of the new boring beasts.

    3) Does that mini have a gloss coat?

I really love the skin tone a lot, and the conversion seems to be pretty well done as well.
In fact, I find it quite hard to see which part is Ungor and which is Plaguebearer. Or are it just the hanging intestines which were attached to the Ungor?

There are way too many cool ideas for me to execute... so I am happy Warseer allows me to gawk and drool over other people's awesome execution of cool ideas!!
The skin colour is deliciously disgusting.

I used some of the new purple and redd'ish wash over his fur, but sadly that red wash (reikland shade) has a tendency to shine after drying. It's only in his fur though and I kinda like it as it looks more disgusting that way.

This little fella is mostly ungor, and I used the intestines from the zombiekit on him over which I sculpted a bit of belly In the future I'm gonna get me some plaguebearers to mix them with.

    Oh, great! Very nicely done.
Not sure, but perhaps the gloss finish of the wash may be solved by a little more shaking.
If I'm not mistaken these new shades need a lot more shaking than the previous ones or they end up shiny.

Very nice! You know there's a link to The Herdstone in my sig, if you want to post your work on a beastmen forum as well.

As to shiny washes, wouldn't that disappear when you varnish the model? You do varnish don't you?

I'm considering looking for 5 to 10 of the old metal pestigors to mix in the planned unit of 30 bestigors; any opinions (or offers )?

Nice new project! For every model I paint you pump out a whole army it seems . I had the same problem with Reikland Fleshshade at the beginning, but shaking it like crazy helpes a lot. Looking forward to whats coming. Adding in the Pestigors will look nice I reckon. I have a Beastmanarmy not assembled yet and was planning the same, but they will have to wait till I have painted enough Dwarves (probably in 2050 )

I happened to stumble on a person offering lots of models for sale on a dutch forum I frequently visit, and among those are 15 pestigors, so I'll snap up 10 or so of those hurrah for interwebs!

What a great start to an army. The conversions are very subtle and the earthy hues are my favourite painting style for warhammer

They look great. Not enough beastmen on warseer, but this promises to be something special. Wonderful painting, really does the models justice.
Feedback wise, I thought that a green wash or something on the base might help the model stand out from the base more.
Either way, very nice. Makes me want to do beastmen.

Man those new gors look promising. Love that look!

Also, you seam to keep the gore, rot, and intestines at subtle level, so the army doesn't become slime festival. Really like that Will be following!
