    RIP Battle of Five Armies

I had a feeling it might happen with The Hobbit being released soon, but BoFA is no longer available.
I know it can't have been a huge seller, and the rules are basically the same as Warmaster but it was one of the few good deals that GW still had going, and the only source of small-scale plastic fantasy minis. Really wish I'd gotten another box or two.
At least Copplestone still has his 10mm fantasy range. It would be cool if he could expand the line to include some of the unit types from BoFA.

Did they pull it back for the Hobbit releases? That's odd, because it seem like a good chance if any to cram out a bit more sales of Battle of Five Armies with the hobbit movies. The scale differences make any deviation in detail irrelevant. In that case I almost wish I had bought BoFA. Only almost, because I've had higher priorities.

I would assume it was due to licensing issues, probably something like they can't produce games that are based on the movies at the same time as games based soley on the books. But yeah, it's pretty ironic that it had to go at the one time it might have seen extra interest.
They could, of course, just rebox it as a Warmaster starter box. That's what most people got it for anyway, I think.

Damn! I'm always more interested in armies of dwarves, elves and goblins (and possibly humans) than other fantasy hosts, and because of this I should've bought BoFA for Warmaster and some Middle-Earth gaming in the future. Had I known the scale was the same I wouldn't have waited. There might yet be some boxes lurking at the top shelves of stores...

Ha, I had years to buy it, so I can't ac surprised or complain.

There's a Rick Priestley quote about BoFA being the game they made no no attempt at selling, right? This reminds me of it
