I suspected as much. I can't complain though...3 out of 4 isn't bad for AB updates.

Easy there Raven...you're getting a bit frothy. I'll take the rumors as I see them. The starter box for 9th will not have Dwarfs as a featured army. Beyond that....it seems our magic 8-ball is giving us the "ask again later".

The next starter is over 18 months in the future. I think people should stay patient over that topic. Holding your breath is a non-option.

Good luck with that suggestion Darnok.

What is this...PAY-ShentZ you speak of? In all seriousness I do agree with you.

I've heard this from another source I trust enough to say it's true and look a fool if it's wrong. After that it's shooty anime-style; then men in skirts the following month (can't promise a book though as they didn't say and I never ask).

Tau in April/May followed by High elves is not something I would bet against, personally.
Eldar, Lizardmen, and Hobbit ought to round out the back end of the year, with expansions and waves filling in any gaps.

This should be indeed the schedule up to the summer.

About a month faster/earlier than that. Probably the most intense GW release period there has been, esp as more flying nonsense for circle base folk are squeezed in somewhere as well.

So is this a way of guessing to be uncovered? Can we just keep betting "I bet Wood Elves in the starter" and such to narrow it down?

    Re: Release schedule rumors

Wood elves could actually be a good choice for a starter set army, it would increase interest in an not all too popular army and they have some nice choices for something great looking like a plastic treeman. The question would be which army to pit them against? The army would have to be 'evil', probably melee based and perhaps because wood elves are quite elite, a horde army. So perhaps orc's and goblins? Since they are sort of all those things, whilst being a popular/'safe' army to put in a starter set.

Hasting confidence on which army is in the starter set (or perhaps which army isn't) suggests to me that its already decided and the release probably isn't too far away.

I see you are contradicting yourself already.

Bretonnia vs Dark Elves would get my vote.
As a long-time Goblin player, I can reliably inform you that failure is ALWAYS an option.

Painting Log - Circle Orboros - Warpwolves FTW!
Terrain Log - Circle Orboros themed terrain for Hordes

I see the logic (range age, juxtaposition of look and tactics) but I'm not sure. For some reason I can't help but feel Empire will be in the next version. It's been a while since they were a starter game army and the core troops could benefit from the treatment Seaguard/Swordmasters got. I suppose DE could make a good 2nd force especially if GW timed it around a revamp and new book.

Brets vs Lizardmen, to bring a 'classic' back?
We both read the rumour, day and night,
but you read black where I read white.
