Druchii and Asur and Asrai! Oh my!

I love Elves. I have done since I started painting miniatures way, way back in 1988. Since then, there hasn't been a time that I haven't had an Elven (or Eldar) army of some sort. This project log will follow me painting my Dark Elf, High Elf and Wood Elf armies up to 2000 points and probably beyond.

I have some of my stuff dotted here and there in the project log forum. Here I will compile my efforts into one Elven Super PLog. I'll begin with my Dark Elves, including what I am working on at the moment.

I have had several Dark Elf armies over the years, with a variety of colour schemes. I find it strange that the one I am painting at the moment is the one I am happiest with. It is also the same as a test scheme I did when I was 10 years old that I didn't pursue

With my High Elf army, I wanted a ghostly ethereal look so have gone for pale blues, greys and of course white. None of my elves have human skin tones and all start with a base of Rakarth Flesh. for my High Elves this is washed with Gryphonne Sepia.

Please ignore the Green bases. That little faux pas has since been rectified

Wood Elves are my favourite Warhammer army. I've gone for an autumnal theme with them, so lots of reds, browns, oranges and yellows. I've also been heavily influenced by Hellboy 2.

I dislike the Tree-Kin and Treeman models so I've spruced them up a little. Pun intended.

Really love the pale, slightly grey skin, especially on the high elves.

    Good work!

As has been said, I really love the pale flesh on your Dark Elves, Fanny, particularly on the Dreadlord (which is a super effective kitbash, by the way...love it) and the Sorceress. I've got a bunch of new Dark Elf painting fun coming up, so....could you find it in yourself to maybe share your secret to a perfect Druchii skin tone? Awesome work, Fanny!

    Not a problem

    The Dark Elf Skin

    Base of Rakarth Flesh
    Wash of Agrax Earthshade
Highlight with 75:25 Rakarth Flesh/Pallid Wych Flesh
Highlight with 50:50 Rakarth Flesh/Pallid Wych Flesh
Highlight with 25:75 Rakarth Flesh/Pallid Wych Flesh
    Highlight with Pallid Wych Flesh

For High Elves it's the same method but with a Seraphim Sepia wash

For Wood Elves it is also the same, but instead with a wash of Reikland Fleshshade.

Hope this is of some use.

Not much painting done, but I've set my armies up to see how they are looking. I thought I'd share them with you

Dark Elves - lots of new additions. I'm currently working on the Cauldron.

    High Elves

Wood Elves - hoping the rumours for a release early(ish) next year are accurate

Thought that I'd share what I'm working on at the moment.

Progress *Ahem!* on the Cauldron of Blood

WIP on the Witch King. The shield is just a stand-in. I'll be using him in a game today.

WIP on the Sorceress on Dark Pegasus, using nothing but leftover bits. Really happy with this

Thanks! As soon as I saw that the Scourgerunner Chariot had horses, I thought, 'I can stick wings on those'

Yeah these are all awesome. Do you get tired of doing your hobby perfectly every time?

But seriously, great work- I love the character conversions!

    Keep it coming

I like where the Witch King is going, I think you need to make his helmet taller though.

Also the pegasus is awesome, consider it stolen!

There is a fine line between genius and insanity, I have accidently blured this line. Sorry
