I suppose if I get enough responses I could be persuaded to post my wife in front of their F14

The other planes look so small compared to the F-14.

You mean the F-4? F-14 is even bigger. Here’s a deck photo of the Midway for reference.

That is an excellent transformation from what was handed over to you.

Thank you! Compared to the restoration efforts needed to put real WW2 aircraft back into display or even flying condition I feel like this is a small offering.

Your planes look awesome IM. I imagine that you could have a quite a game on the floor of a hall, gymnasium or church basement.

Thanks! I’m moving to Orange County, CA in the next couple of months so I hope to find a good location for that exact purpose. I actually need to build more bases at some point because I have like 20 planes and I’m considering expanding to Korean War/early Cold War era, depending on the size of my new office/man cave.

Re: WW2 Air Combat in 1/48 scale

So Iím relocated to a new house in Huntington Beach, California. My office is much bigger and Iíve got enough shelves to hold the majority of my painted models for display. Packing and transport was largely a success, the only real damage was two propeller blades on Memphis Belle but I have already done preliminary repairs. So on to the photos (mods please donít punish me for non historical content). Thanks for looking!

Thank you, it’s extremely peaceful to hang out in here. Just installed LED lights in all the cases so I’ll probably take better Pics at some point.
Random question- does anybody know a good rule set for age of sail type naval games? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, not the sleek profile of a killer like you would expect.

I would fly one of these, looking bone stock but with an upgraded engine and armament and nobody would worry until i was blasting holes in them.

Re: WW2 Air Combat in 1/48 scale

Thank you, its taken me a long time to get to this point, hopefully things will stop being so restrictive after the election and i can get some gaming in.
Anyway on to the Buffalo. I had planned on doing US navy or marine colors but bearing in mind how much the Americans derided this aircraft I am currently leaning towards RAF/RAAF (NZ) to represent its desperate hours in defense of pacific commonwealth territory in the first days of the war. There are also Dutch markings, which is pretty cool. Feel free to weigh in the comments while i base coat it. (looking towards Dutch after watching this- https://youtu.be/4duE1wVamjk ).

Yes the Navy even suspected sabotage, the Buffalo was such a poor performer.

As for Dutch markings, I'll quote a Dutch friend of mine....
