"Those beneath the flag" samurai skirmish, Ronin rules from Osprey

Its been a while since Ive posted a blog here. hopefully this will mean i stop lurking and post more.

My aim is to build up some small buntai forces for Ospreys Ronin game and a board to play on.
Heres some pictures to kick it off.

Thanks Mos, the miniatures im using are perry miniatures. But Northstar miniatures are producing some great sculpts in handy 'starter box' sets.

So, this Ronin game.... tell me more because I have some unpainted Samurai miniatures floating around.

Codsticker i approve and i am envious of your discipline.

Easy, Ronin is a samurai skirmish game that covers battles during the 'warring states' 1500s onwards to 1800s it includes rules for fighting the koreans and ming chinese too.

Combat is focused around boosts. so your samurai can boost his speed, attack or defence dependant on which boosts they chose before the combat began.

I will be running some very narrative themed games for my gaming group.

I got the Ronin rulebook when it came out but I have yet to get any models. I'm sure that your plog will be good inspiration for that.

thanks for interest everyone. im afraid i cant give any advice because i havnt played a game yet. im determined to have fully painted forces before i break it out at the club.

buntais planned so far:

bushi
koryu
ikko ikki/ sohei
bandits

im also painting up ninja to play some side missions.

this weeks update is Mr Ogi abd his favourite courtesan Miko in her kimono of winter flowers

This weeks update is an Old man villager. The Ninja missions require plenty of villagers to panic or spot those sneaky Ninjitsu warriors.

4ground have started doing some buildings as well now, as it seems 4ground, osprey and north star all work together

Its been a while since i have updated. our family has been blessed with a baby girl and i had woefully overestimated the hobby time of a new parent.

well here is something to keep you interested. a peasent in rain cover and a sneaky ninja. better pictures needed and the sword needs straighting.
