Week 1: Haemonculi / Wracks (Sept 20th pre-orders)

Week 2: Voidraven / Vect-dias / possible 3rd unknown mini (Sept 27th pre-orders)

Plus these mixed in:
-Codex (plus limited edition)
-Supplemental codex ("Wyches"?)
-Painting Guide ("Covens"?)
-Cards

This is more or less in line with what we heard earlier. Not sure if the possible 3rd unknown mini is a guess or a rumour.

If that's the case (happy as I am with what's being released), I think that it's rather poor that they're not updating the Grotesque(s) at the same time. Surely it wouldn't have been too arduous for them to sculpt them (possibly a three pack like the fantasy Crypt Horrors) alongside the other Coven units?

As usual, I feel that price will be the deciding factor as to whether people fill their boots with new Coven armies (if they're Warrior/Wych priced) or just buy the odd box (if they're Dire Avenger priced).

Eh. A Daisy/Void raven dual kit? I hope that doesn't mean we'll get a bomber that looks more like a raider than a razorwing.

Looking at the way haemonculi / wracks is written the same, I think it means that the raven and dais will be separate kits to.

Very much so. Personally I don't give a damn about grotesques, but I feel sorry for everyone who loves the grotesque concept and I think it's a shame that any multiple model unit should be made from one single resin dude. They should have been among their highest priorities. What's taking them so long?

Priorities.
Void Raven has had a kit for a while, now it is getting released. Vect is the headline character of the book, and a Lord of War. Of the coven units, Wracks are (likely to be) a troop unit, so higher priority for plastic than an elite unit. Hopefully that possible unknown 3rd mini is an Incubi kit. We also really need some more plastic HQs. Getting a Haemonculu is a start, but Archon and Succubus need plastic kits too.

I have yet to see a list that looks like anything but an educated guess, and far more that look just like wishlisting.

That said, there is precedent for the Wrack/mandrake kit, namely, the shadow warrior/sisters of averlorn kit. Different torsos, arms, weapons and heads, same legs and cloaks. It would mean a reduction in option for wracks, but that's not at all unbelievable. Reduction in options is common.

Except that when an item isn't available, it will say "out of stock". I am not saying that we're getting a new Succubus. I was simply pointing out that the model was removed, as was the Codex and Battleforce.

Okay, I have the new WD with me.

Wracks get a new ranged weapon called Ossefactor.

"Each Wrack has access to (...) hooked blades and studded claws, (...) power mauls, (...), to (...)hex rifles, liquifiers and ossefactors". Power weapons for Wracks! Acothyst can take ECW, Scissorhand, Mindphase Gauntlet.

5 Wracks in a box, 29 eur. 11 different heads inside. Its not a dual kit.

This one is interesting. There are bits in the box that allow you to replace the crew of Raiders and Venoms for Wrack pilots and gunners!

Plastic Wracks look almost indentical to the Finecast ones.

New Haemy is 20 eur, looks like a cross between Urien (he has a syringe) and the old Haemy.

No codex yet.

This time I'm not with you Major. Though I admit you're a much wiser man than I am.

The Void Raven should be GW's top priority, agree. Cause it's missing a model completely.

But with all respect to the incubi, which I love more than any other DE unit. Their kit is ok. It's not great by any means, and all their options are missing. But they look decent, and at least they've got a couple of different models. The grotesques desperately need an update. Desperately as in DESPERATELY! I don't even like them but their model (not models!) sure doesn't help.

Bah, looks like a terrible release. No surprise, nothing really new but Vect, just updates. Needed updates maybe, but boring nonetheless. Looks like we'll lose a lot of characters as well, unless somehow the mysterious 3rd kit/mini materializes, or GW changes its policy over characters without models... Beurk. I can't say I'm surprised, but the models better be damned good and the rules top-notch for it not to convince me to leave my DEs in their box. Boring, boring, boring.
