Since I don't transport mine anywhere, they're generally stored in old shoe boxes, and the old supplement boxes which came with the rules and cards for some of the second edition expansions of Space Marine.

That`s similar to me, i was wondering if there is a preferably cheap readily available solution that i was missing out on, i don`t want to splash out on foam lined leather or metal transport cases as they don`t look like going anywhere anytime soon and i have no more space for glass cabinets to display them (lots of WHFB BEHIND GLASS).Originally Posted by Irisado

Painted tends to be in army transport foam trays. I have them stacked in closet. Unpainted are in various different boxes less carefully.

I use KR cases, I find them to be quite good.

KR make special half-depth foam trays which are excellent.
Before that, I used normal depth foam with a thin thin padding layer (tissue paper or plastic equivalent) to fit several stands/vehicles in each slot - works fine but is quite a faff to pack (especially when you play Orks!).
Like slack-jawed never Gnyaarg. Some then folks'll folks'll skunk, some. the but, again yokel eat a Cletus.

All mine have strip magnets on the bases, Or larger ones for the bigger models.
I then store everything in a toolbox

I tend to prefer Figures in Comfort trays and cases - they have lots of different tray sizes, depths and arrangements - one can hold 8 battle titans!
If I get around to it later today I'll post a picture.
I keep mine in cardboard boxes with lots of foam packing. I pick the size of the box to fit the size of the army in question. I make sure to label each box so I don't lose them.
I use fishing tackle boxes. Cheap and small compartments. For infantry I make two level cardstock trays each level has a stripstand width ledge on either side of a vertical partition; each ledge ends with a vertical lip (make them 2 stands wide and bend up at 1 width). For vehicles I just put a square of folded facial tissue in a compartment, drop the model in & fold over.

They don't work for titans or some larger flyers, but you can fit 5-6 infantry strips or four tanks in one compartment.
