    Return of Adeptus Titanicus?

    About the Job

Do you want to be responsible for designing and developing an exciting new range specialist games and models including reimagining some of the old favourites such as Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic and Adeptus Titanicus?

Doesn't say Epic 40K or Epic Armageddon. Adeptus Titanicus is very specific and I doubt they would have used that name unless we are going to see a rehash of that game (most probably in resin).

I for one would love to see this happen. Afterall, we've heard rumors that Epic will be set during the Heresy, which I don't have to tell you guys is the era when Adeptus Titanicus was set.

Not interested if it's just a titans boardgame. Unless it's part of a larger rerelease of the whole Epic range my money is staying in my wallet.

Well AT started out as just a Titan Game and went to Space Marines then Titan Legions..so I i believe that we will see some HH units in the future.

I also would prefer a full on Epic rerelease with all the races etc...I'm not all that interested in the Horus Heresy ... space marines are OK but I prefer more variety of armies ... and titans only limits it even further ... still, baby steps ... maybe if it sells well they will expand it.

The Epic range is a lot of plastic to roll out at once. So you do Adeptus Titanicus first, so that when you launch Epic you've already got most of the big stuff done and people have already sunk money into armies they'll want to expand.

My understanding based on what I've read in different forums is IF Adeptus Titanicus sells really well, then MAYBE they'll re-launch Epic.
A lot of wishful thinking that Epic is after Bloodbowl going on!

I'd LOVE them to re do Epic though, but AT will do for now....

That old box art is really interesting. I can see those eagles getting replaced by loads of skulls and cogs when the newer incarnation surfaces.

I wonder if Forge World would remodel alternate models for Titans? They started off by building a Lucius pattern Warhound before they went back to a Mar pattern style. While I prefer their Mar pattern models compared to the Lucius titans, having far less development costs compared to 28mm scaled Titans I could see them releasing alternate models.

If they're on a limited budget, it may well prove cheaper to work with the up-to-date Mars pattern concepts rather than having to start over with the Lucius pattern. To my recollection, the Lucius Reaver has never been designed, and the last time they did the Warlord was 1997 (although the design did get used in the 2011 Space Marine game).

There's an Image of the Lucius pattern Reaver here. http://i1.17173.itc.cn/2009/esports/...8232601014.jpg
granted, the moulds have probably been thrown out, but hopefully they could have the master model in storage?

It's not a big issue, I'm perfectly happy that their Mars patterns will be the default as I think they pay homage to the older models but update them with more modern 40k aesthetics rather than the Lucius versions. I just wondered if they would consider variant patterns as well as weapon loadouts over time. Would we see Warhounds with the grappling hook things featured in the HH novel Betrayer further down the line? A game that comes out of the gates as Titan vs Titan could allow for a lot of niche upgrades for the Titans.

With the focus on titan-on-titan action there should be plenty of scope for new versions of some of the wackier weapon options the warlord and reaver could carry back in the TL/SM days...

All they need to do is to 3D scan a fully built forgeworld titan and scale it down....

It was, but I think the post lost it's images, either due to Warseer being down or an Inquisitorial purge.

It makes a lot of sense to lead an Epic renaissance with Adeptus Mechanicus.

    1) Titans are eye catching, recognisable and sell well.
    2) There are a limited number of variants needed in plastic to sell a box set ala BaC (Probably a handful of Imperial Chaos Titans, or the same base kits with some customisation sprues)
    3) Easier to build the required level of detail into a new game only featuring titans to make a compelling stand alone boxed game.
    4) If the Titanicus release goes well, they can follow up with smaller scale stuff - knights, tanks, infantry etc.

    Re: Return of Adeptus Titanicus?

    Time to be worried: http://recalcitrantdaze.blogspot.nl/...r-lord-of.html
Ok, not exactly much to show here except the poster below.

However talking to Andy Hoare, Mark Bedford and Chris Drew I can mention the following:

The game is set during the Horus Heresy in the spirit of the original Adeptus Titanicus.
It will begin with just Titans.
The scale will be 8mm - They decided on this scale after 3D printing a Marine, Dread, Leman Russ, Warlord and a Mastodon in three different scales. 8mm was deemed the best as you could see the details to the point of telling different armour marks apart but didn't make the Titans too big.
8mm will make a Warlord around 6" tall (that's what it looked like why Andy Hoare put his hands apart, don't blame me if the final model is smaller or larger...).
The models will be produced in resin by Forge World.
Typical force may be in the region of two Warlords, two Reavers and two-three Warhounds.
    More Titan variants are possible.
Down the road infantry and tanks are to be introduced.
Other forces are also possible, this includes Xenos which can be introduced in a themed expansion, e.g. Adeptus Titanicus: Armageddon to bring in the Orks.
Currently the Titans are being 3D modelled by Chris Drew, the Warlord has been done as the 40k version was originally 3D modelled so it was a case of just scaling things down and getting it to work as a model which can be manufactured.

Why worried? It was how the game first started back in the day.
